Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, has stated that Nigerians and Christians in general, have nothing to fear over the Muslim-Muslim ticket his party, APC has presented ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
Last Sunday, July 10, the APC Presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, a Muslim, announced former Borno state governor, Kashim Shettima, a Muslim, as his running mate. The revelation has been greeted with mixed reactions with a lot of Christians saying it is a slap on the Christian community.
Some argue that Bola Ahmed’s decision to pick a Muslim as his running mate implied that he could not find a competent Christian to run with.
In a series of tweets shared on Tuesday night, Keyamo said Christians have nothing to fear. He shared that Tinubu is so tolerant that he allowed his only wife, Remi Tinubu become a Pastor in his own house. Remi was made a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God in August of 2018.
An anaesthetist has been arrested for allegedly raping a pregnant woman during a C-section and he is also reported to have carried out attacks on two more mothers on the same day.
Giovanni Quintella Bezerra, 32, was apprehended on suspicion of rape after he was reportedly secretly filmed orally raping a woman after he heavily sedated her at the Hospital da Mulher in São João de Meriti, Rio de Janeiro.
The woman’s husband was asked to leave the room and only found out about what had happened to his wife when he recognized the doctor on television after his arrest.
“I’ve never seen anything like it,” said delegate Barbara Lomba, who is in charge of investigating the case.
The woman shared with her family that she thought she was having a hallucination at the time of the sexual attack.
Hospital staff were reportedly worried about the amount of drugs Bezerra was giving to his patients. The doctor is said to have used so much anaesthetic that the mothers would be unable to hold their babies after delivering.
So, suspicious staff members fitted a secret camera to see what he was up to. They were horrified to see him sexually assaulting the woman.
He reportedly assaulted her sexually for almost ten minutes.
Staff members who recorded the rape said the doctor had already carried out two similar procedures that day, with police investigating whether those two women were also victims of attack.
In the second operation on Sunday, July 10, employees said Giovanni “wore an open cloak on himself, widening his silhouette, and positioned himself in a way that also prevented anyone from seeing the patient from the neck up.”
In most C-sections the woman is not fully sedated during the procedure, but the women who went under the knife earlier in the day said they were fully unconscious during the procedure.
One of the patients said: “The only thing I remember from the surgery is his voice. He kept talking softly in my ear, it bothered me. He asked if I was okay.”
Two other people who said they were also Bezerra’s patients have arrived at the police station in Brazil since the accusations came to light.
“Giovanni, still positioned towards the patient’s neck and head, started, with his left arm bent, slow movements back and forth,” the witness said, according to G1 Rio de Janeiro.
“From the movement and the curvature of the arm, it looked like he was holding the patient’s head towards his pelvic region.”
The doctor was earlier transferred to the prison of Benfica. The custody hearing of the doctor was held on Tuesday, July 12. He is facing charges of rape with a prison sentence ranging from 8 to 15 years in Brazil.

Actress, Chinonso Arubayi took to her Instagram page recently to raise an alarm over what she says is the “latest form of police oppression”.
According to her post on her IG stories, the actress claimed she witnessed a police officer try extorting a motorist for splashing water on his uniform.

Fast-rising Nollywood actor, Emma Buchi has reportedly been murdered in cold blood by his personal assistant, Sunny, in Asaba, Delta state capital.
The news of his sad demise was announced on Facebook by his friend, Melody Obia, on Tuesday, July 12.
According to Melody, the decomposing corpse of the actor was found in his apartment recently and it’s alleged that he was killed by his PA who carted away all his belongings.
She shared pictures of the actor’s alleged killer and appealed to anyone with useful information about his whereabout to contact her, the actor’s family or the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).

The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) on Tuesday has said that Peter Nwachukwu, the husband of the late gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu, is still in their custody.
The Service dismissed reports that Nwachukwu escaped with Boko Haram insurgents and other inmates declared missing when the Kuje Medium Custodial Centre was attacked last Tuesday.
It should be recalled that a High Court in Abuja on June 3 remanded Nwachukwu at the Kuje Correctional facility, pending the hearing and determination of the homicide-related suit against him by the Attorney General of the Federation.
Speaking with The Nation on the alleged escape of Nwachukwu, the PRO of the service, Umar Abubakar, said there was no iota of truth in the report.

Spokesperson of the Delta state police command, DSP Bright Edafe, has taken to Twitter to tell Nigerians about what constitutes rape during sex.
Taking to his Twitter page on Tuesday, July 12, DSP Edafe said if one party withdraws consent during sexual intercourse and the other party refuses to stop, it can be termed rape and attracts life imprisonment.
According to him, ignorance of this law is not tenable in court and anyone found guilty will be prosecuted accordingly.
He tweeted,
“Do you know during sex, once any party withdraws consent, you have to stop. further penetration amounts to rape and the person can be sentenced to life imprisonment if found guilty…… ignorance of law is no excuse”

Nigeria’s first citizen, President Muhammadu Buhari has said he is eager to finish his tenure because it has been tough.
Buhari stated this while receiving governors of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in his hometown, Daura in Katsina State on Monday, July 11.
According to the president, he can’t wait to hand over to his successor because it’s been tough leading the country.
He was quoted as saying,
“By this time next year, I would have made the most out of the two terms, and the remaining months I will do my best.
I am eager to go. I can tell you it has been tough. I am grateful to God that people appreciate the personal sacrifices we have been making. I wish the person who is coming after me the very best.”
The president stated this on Monday in Daura, Katsina State, when he received some governors of the All Progressives Congress, legislators, and other political leaders at his residence.
He enjoined the lecturers to reconsider their stance on the prolonged strike, noting that the crisis would have generational consequences for families, the educational system, and the future development of the country.
Nigerian professional footballer, Ahmed Musa has slammed political office holders in Nigeria over the lingering strike by lecturers in the country.
The Super Eagles Captain called them out in a post shared on his Instagram page, and asked how they feel after visiting their children abroad, take pictures in their schools and post them online while ASUU is still on strike.
According to him, the political leaders obviously don’t believe in the system they are supposed to be running and it’s a big shame.

In an apparent reaction to the criticisms, Toke took to her Instastory to reveal that her friends didn’t show her support or praise her acting skills after the movie was released.
She added that none of them should expect any support from her when they need it because she would repay them in their own coin.
The 37-year-old TV host wrote,
“I’ve received more support from strangers than I have friends since glamour girls came out, Not mad or feeling entitled, just putting it out there so that when next your palm itches you to ask for my support on anything, remember you stayed silent when it was my turn. No more what will Jesus do, pls be guided.”
Popular Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi, has released video evidence to dispel domestic violence allegations levelled against him by his baby mama, Grace Amarachi.
Grace, who welcomed a child with Fabiyi in February 2022, had accused the actor of beating her up while she was heavily pregnant and forcing her into forced labour.
Reacting, Yomi Fabiyi shared videos on his Instagram page to debunk the claims of domestic abuse.
The actor claimed in one of the videos that he had to call the police at past midnight because his wife had allegedly threatened to kill him.
Sharing the video, he wrote,
“EVIDENCE 2 of DOMESTIC VIOLENCE II:
When someone sent you a message to ruin my brand, career and personality, if not that you are an equal criminal and quack, aren’t you suppose to verify. You label and call me name at the detriment of my career.
“It is a shame we still have a handful visit, fan and motivate a criminal who hides behind journalism to perpetrate crime with reckless abandon. These set of people and those quoting the criminal platform as source are accomplice and are danger to the society.
UNTIL I AM KILLED BEFORE I RUN. Men go through hell but these criminals keep playing GENDER CARD AND EMOTIONAL BLACKMAIL. Enough! Like I said, anarchy looms!”

A Nigerian lady has on her social media page, shared how what started out to be a joyous day turned into a tragic one when she returned home to an unfortunate incident on Sallah Day.
The young lady had earlier in the day, gone out to a social gathering during the Sallah celebration and showed herself eating ram meat joyfully.
Unknown to her, while she was having a good time enjoying the festivities, her house was being gutted by fire.
The young lady recorded the moment she returned home to see her house being razed by fire. She showed the remains of her house and car which had also been affected by the fire.

President Muhammadu Buhari has bemoaned the prolonged strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, saying enough is enough.
The president stated this on Monday in Daura, Katsina State, when he received some governors of the All Progressives Congress, legislators, and other political leaders at his residence.
He enjoined the lecturers to reconsider their stance on the prolonged strike, noting that the crisis would have generational consequences for families, the educational system, and the future development of the country.
“I hope that ASUU will sympathise with the people on the prolonged strike. Truly, enough is enough for keeping students at home. Don’t hurt the next generation for goodness sake.
“Students from Nigerian universities will be faced with the challenge of competing with others in a highly connected and technology-driven work space, and keeping them at home only deprives them of time, skill and opportunities to be relevant on the global stage.
“Colonial type education was geared towards producing workers in government. Those jobs are no longer there. Our young people should get education to prepare them for self-employment. Now education is for the sake of education. Through technology we are much more efficient. We should encourage our children to get education, not only to look for government jobs.” He said.

Most are of the opinion that Kelly is not “all that” that a whopping sum of N100k would be required to see her. Alhough the young man mentioned that as of the time he filmed the now viral video, about 17 people had already shown interest in being a part of the party.
