An unidentified lady was pictured voluntarily helping school children wade through flood at Mile 3 market in Port Harcourt.
It was learnt that the lady helped the school children cross the flooded road, to avoid them from being swept away.
A Facebook user who was amazed by the lady’s selfless service, took to the platform to share the story.
Numbere Sokeipriye who shared the photo on Facebook also revealed that the lady also used a stick to halt plastic waste from entering the drainage.
In her words,
“I may never know her or her name but know that I appreciate you. This Lady today at mile 3 market PH, under the rain she was preventing waste plastic from entering the drainage as well as helping school children fine their way across the flood. You see the position of the stick she is holding, if any child fall in there that’s the end of that child. Aunty I prayed for you and I know God who owes no man will surely bless you. Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun has approved the full reopening of churches, mosques, businesses, hotels, and entertainment centres across the state.
Recall that the state ordered business facilities to partially/fully close down in March, as a measure to prevent the community spread of C0VID-19.
However, in a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, via the state’s Twitter handle on Wednesday, the Governor has ordered the full reopening of churches and other public places.
The statement in part reads,
‘‘Government is aware of the excruciating implications of COVID-19 lockdown but we have emplaced measures and improved on testing to stem the tide. Empirical field research indicates that we have managed to stem community spread and treatment of the virus very well.
“We are convinced that opening of schools and entertainment centres would not harm our people. We would continue to monitor the development”.

An heavy-duty truck reportedly knocked a school bus conveying pupils to their homes into a ditch.
This tragic incident occurred in Agwu community of Enugu state on Wednesday October 28.
A Facebook user, identified as Duru Divinegift, shared photos from the scene of the accident. He also alleged that not less than 15 pupils, a teacher and others reportedly lost their lives in the accident.
According to him, the survivors are currently in critical conditions.

A Nigerian rights lawyer, Tope Akinyode, has sued ex-presidential candidate, Adamu Garba for suing Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey over his support for the EndSARS protest.
The lawyer filed a court process, to challenge Adamu Garba’s lawsuit against the Twitter CEO.
Tope who took to the micro blogging platform to share screenshots of the charge, wrote,
“Having been consulted by friends & colleagues, I’ve filed court processes to challenge @adamugarba’s lawsuit against @jack & @Twitter. Jack’s support for Nigeria’s cause is commendable. We’ll protect our freedom of expression & resist the move to ban Twitter in Nigeria.”

The viral video of a toddler who probably just started learning to walk, raising her hands and approaching a policemen who were arresting her father, has sent emotional turmoil through the hearts of netizens.
The little girl saw as her dad was being handcuffed and as if she felt the urge to intervene, she made her way of the car and while raising her hands in surrender, walked to one of the officers.
It was gathered that there was a police report on shoplifting by the man and his family and that resulted in the police pulling him over and arresting him.

A man identified as Raymond Steven Sekitayira has died just ten days to his wedding in Kampala, Uganda.
It was gathered that the young man, who was set to wed his childhood sweetheart, slumped at his workplace in Kampala. He was rushed to IHK hospital where he was confirmed dead.

The Lagos State Government has approved the re-opening of all classes in public and private schools across the State, beginning from Monday, November 2nd, while boarders in public schools are to resume on Sunday, November 1st.
The state Commissioner for Education, Folasade Adefisayo, made this announcement in a statement released on Thursday October 29th.
The statement reads,
“The Lagos State Government has approved the re-opening of schools for all classes in public and private schools across the State beginning from Monday, 2nd of November, 2020 while boarders in public schools are to resume on Sunday, 1st of the same month.
“This has been an unprecedented year with the recent happenings that have regrettably led to frequent closure of schools with attendant learning disruptions faced by all children.
“We pray and hope that there will be no more disruptions in the academic calendar. However, the State Government will always regard the safety of pupils/students, parents and all staff as a matter of priority.
“We recommend that when schools resume on Monday, teaching and learning should continue unhindered till the end of the term”

The United States has rejected Okonjo-Iweala as the consensus candidate for appointment as director-general of the Word Trade Organization.
The United States representative at World Trade Organization, has stated that Washington will not recognize Okonjo-Iweala as the consensus candidate for appointment as director-general of the body.
Recall that Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala was slated to be the new Director-General of the World Trade Organization.
However, the appointment has now been thrown into doubts after United States rejected the move.
It was learnt that the former Nigeria’s minister of finance, had won the support from the vast majority of member states, including the EU, Japan and China, but not the United States.
Due to this development, the General Counsel has postponed its announcement of the new Director-General until a further meeting, which is scheduled for 9 November; after the US presidential elections.
Meanwhile, in a tweet after the head of delegates meeting on Wednesday, October 28, in Geneva, the WTO stated that Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has the best chance at getting a consensus.

Officers of the disbanded Special Anti Robbery Squad unit of the Nigerian police unit, were reportedly spotted in Owerri searching peoples phones.

A gay Nigerian man, identified as Ayo, has taken to Instagram to share his testimony of how he tested positive for HIV after he was gang-raped.
Ayo said three hoodlums raped him 5 years ago, when he was only 19, because he was gay. According to him, he lost his virginity from the rape and later tested positive for HIV.
He said he faced inhumane treatments because of his sexual orientation. Adding that he lost his home and family in the process.
However, he stated that his HIV status made him start living healthy. He started worrying less, abstained from smoking and drinking, also started eating healthy and taking his medications.

However, former presidential aide, Reno Omkri has now countered the governors claims, by sharing a video evidence of blood on the floor at Lekki Tollgate after the incident.
Sharing the video the author and popular Nigerian lawyer wrote,

Governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has awarded scholarship to children of the policemen who died in the violence that erupted in Lagos state some days back.
The Lagos state government on Wednesday October 28, directed the Lagos State Scholarship Board to award scholarship to the children of the slain officers up to the university level.
It was gathered that twenty-nine Divisional Police Stations and 17 Police Posts were razed by hoodlums disguising as protesters. Also, six police officers were lynched, 36 critically injured, while 71 police operational vehicles were torched.
Sanwo-Olu paid a visit to the Command Headquarters in Ikeja to boost the morale of officers, and promised to rebuild the burnt police stations and also give life insurance to police officers. The Lagos state Governor also promised to compensate the families of the late policemen who died in the violence.

Police officers lynched in the wake of the violence that erupted last week in the State will not die in vain, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has pledged.
The State Government, on Wednesday, directed the Lagos State Scholarship Board to award scholarship to the children of the slain officers up to the university level.
The State Police Command bore huge loss in personnel, armoury and properties in the violence.
Twenty-nine Divisional Police Stations and 17 Police Posts were razed by hoodlums disguising as protesters. Also, six police officers were lynched, 36 critically injured, while 71 police operational vehicles were torched.
In spite of the loss, the police said they remained undeterred in performing their constitutional duties.
Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday, made the offer to take the bill of replacing the logistics lost by the police when he visited the Command Headquarters in Ikeja to boost the morale of officers, following the demoralising events of the past week in which police officers and their stations were targeted by hoodlums.
The Governor got the assurance of the police’s commitment to strengthen security across the State from the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hakeem Odumosu.
Sanwo-Olu said the statutory duties of the Police could not be wished away because of the actions of a few bad eggs, noting that the impact of the police officers’ absence on the roads was generally felt by residents.
A Corp member, identified as Balogun Babatunde Temidayo, has proposed to his girlfriend, Adejoke, on their NYSC POP on wednesday, October 29.

Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communication Commission, Umar Danbatta, has stated that the Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy is planning on reducing the cost of data from N1,000 to N390 per gigabyte.
He stated this on Saturday while addressing journalists in Kano. He disclosed that part of the plan was the new national broadband plan for the year 2020-2025, which says Nigeria must provide broadband connectivity, cover virtually all parts of the country and deploy 4G infrastructure also across the country.
According to him, the ministry was tasked to come up with a digital economy policy and strategies, adding that all the efforts put in place are intended to bring the cost of data down to N390 as against the N1,000 that Mobile Network Operators, MNOs, are charging.
“Actually the cost has come down to N1,000/gigabyte of data, but the government is saying that we should be targeting N390 in the next. 3 to 5 years.
We need pervasive broadband data infrastructure because at the landing point in Lagos, where we have all the submarine cables.
We are indeed pursuing the plan. There is infrastructure and company licensing framework that could give the companies the ability to afford to sell the data to the retail agents, who will sell the data to the citizens,” he explained.

In a now-deleted Instagram post, Rosie penned her position on the matter.

A prospective tenant who is in search for an apartment in Lagos state took to Twitter to share photos of a house he was shown.
The accommodation is a room self-contained but is rather too small as one can barely move freely in it.
Asides being small, the room has a single small window that’s high up and doesn’t provide adequate lightening or ventilation.
“I had to stretch to reach the window,” the Twitter user wrote.
The kitchen and bathroom are narrow, that movement will be restricted.
“Lagos is testing my mental health tbh. When I’m not a prisoner,” the Twitter user captioned photos of the accommodation.
To make the whole situation even more absurd, it was revealed that the accommodation costs 250,000 Naira per annum and this is minus the other fees such as agent, agreement, and caution fees.
