Koko Master, D’Banj said he already planned to do a song with former partner and Mavins Boss, Don Jazzy before 2Face Idibia begged them to come back together and give fans one more hit.
In an exclusive chat with Potpourri, D’banj enthused, ‘Glo has said they will sponsor it, even before 2Face begged us. We’re already working on something great that you guys will love; and I guarantee you will hear it very soon.
I believe that with 2Face saying it that day, it represents the voice of the people. You have to also know that since it’s my 10th year anniversary, it’s also Don Jazzy’s 10th year as well. Don Jazzy is my brother now when it comes to endorsement as Diageo endorsed him too. We can even go on a tour together; what do you think?’
On how he feels when people turn out en-masse to embrace him on the streets, he said, ‘I feel humbled. I mean it’s always like a dream, especially when you know that everything you’ve done is from God, and I always give thanks to God.
I always pray that anytime I come out, it should be better than the last. When I went to Computer Village and everybody came out, it felt surreal. Some came with paintings of me, some were crying; I just felt humbled that I have to keep on doing whatever brought me here. And I will continue even in another 20 years.’
Finally!! Another Don Jazzy & D’Banj collaboration, it’s going to be Jam of the century!!
Some people believe lightening their skins make them more beautiful and hence go into bleaching, whitening or toning.
TUNDE OGUNTOLA in this piece, writes on the health hazards of skin lightening as it is not just all about skin bleaching but also what comes after.
Bleaching is the process of whitening or lightening any material by the use of chemicals. While, skin bleaching basically involves using chemicals to lighten skin tone or provide an even skin complexion by lessening the concentration of melanin in the human skin.
Melanin is responsible for giving black colouring in the human skin. When skin bleaching cream is applied of the body, the effectiveness of the pigment is hindered.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 77 per cent of Nigerian women use skin-lightening products, the world’s highest percentage. That compares with 59 per cent in Togo, and 27 per cent in Senegal. The reasons for this are varied but most people say they use skin-lighteners because they want “white skin” and look more beautiful.
Research shows that it is not only women though who are obsessed with bleaching their skins. Some men too are involved in the practice.
There are various reasons why people bleach their skins to become whiter than they were before which include among others: low self-esteem, self-hate, peer group and quest for beauty, because in many parts of Africa, lighter-skinned women are considered more beautiful and are believed to be more successful and likely to find marriage.
The numbers of people that dive into bleaching are on the increase, the truth is, skin bleaching comes with hazardous health consequences, which include blood cancers such as leukemia and cancers of the liver and kidneys as well as severe skin conditions.
It is true that some persons look good when they apply bleaching cream on their skins, but what about the consequences or adverse effects of making use of bleaching cream. There are many dangers associated with bleaching, be it face whitening or the entire skin bleaching.
The adverse effects of skin bleaching are: vulnerability to body infections, stretch marks exposure, skin weakening, vulnerability to injuries, exposes the veins, intense irritation, redness, pigmentation, vulnerability to body infections.
The growth in skin bleaching is more in some parts of the world like Asia, Africa and in the Middle East. The high demand of skin lightening cream in those parts of the world is because their population is mainly dark skinned. As a result of this, many want to look like the English and hence lightening up their skin colour.
Most hard-core bleachers use illegal ointments containing toxins like mercury, a metal that blocks production of melanin, which gives the skin its colour, but can also be toxic.
There are a number of materials or chemicals used in skin bleaching. Few among the many are: mercury, hydroquinone, niacinamide, kojic acid, arbutin, lactic acid, gel, shea butter, topical retinoids, and corticosteroids among others.
Mercury is the very dangerous chemical that medical officials found in the skin lightening creams that sickened the women, the dangers of mercury are several. It can damage the kidneys and wreak havoc on the nervous system.
Symptoms of mercury toxicity include: irritability, headaches, difficulty concentrating, forgetfulness, memory loss, numbness, tingling in the hands, feet or around the lips, insomnia, depression and weight loss.
Hence, if you have experienced any of these symptoms after using an unmarked cream, see your doctor right away.

Dossou Adenike, is an aggrieved woman seeking divorce in a Lagos Island Customary Court. She has alleged that her husband for 12 years, Mr. Segun Dossou, a Benin Republic national, inserts his fingers into the private parts of his young daughters while bathing them.
Adenike said she was shocked to realize that her husband had been carrying on with the ungodly act anytime he volunteered to bath the children, aged 8, 10 and 12 respectively, adding that on more than three occasions, she had woken up to find her husband missing from their bed only to find him sleeping beside their children in their room.
Speaking in court, the complainant said:
“I went with him to Cotonou to seal our union in their registry. I was just signing documents; I didn’t know what was written in the papers. I don’t love him anymore and I don’t want to give my girls to live with him.
I am still in shock. Our first daughter, 12, told me that she is growing and didn’t like what her dad did to her,” Adenike sobbed.“I scolded him and asked if he wanted to ruin our children’s life but he didn’t respond“I am in support of the dissolution because I know he wants our children in his custody to continue his misdeeds.”
DAILY POST reports that the husband, a 39-year-old Immigration Officer, however, debunked his wife’s assertion, saying the problems in their marriage began when his wife got a job and became unmanageable.
Dossou said:
“She is a thief, she steals government’s property. She brought cement and coal tar home. It was her attitude that made us fight and she left me.”
The defendant went further to say “I just want our daughters. I don’t love or need her anymore.”
The court president, Chief Awos Awosola, advised the couple to be very careful with their utterances in future and to maintain peace.

Godwin Crooner, Korede Bello, is no longer a strange name in the Music Industry, his songs has received massive plays both on Radios and Television.
Korede Bello has said that his new song entitled “Somebody Great’’, is a prophesy to inspire people to greatness.
Bello said that he wrote the song to make people visualise success in their minds and then work hard to achieve it.
The new song currently enjoys massive airplay on radio just like the first single, entitled “Godwin’’.
“ (It’s) about the people, how we were born into this world and we don’t know how the journey will go and how one love will take us from nobody to somebody.
”How I one day hoped that my voice would unite people and stop bombing and fighting and tribulations.
“That my voice would command authority; it’s not just me, it’s about alleviating people from oppression and mental poverty.
“You can be somebody great from nobody to somebody, you can be anything you want to be: have love for God, love for people, one love.
“But also one of the reasons why I wrote that song is for people to see themselves as great.
“Because before you can be somebody great, you need to first see it in your mind and you need to prophesy it to yourself, you need to say it to yourself.
“And I guess, those are one of the privileges of being a musician because you can put things out there in a melodic form that can change people’s lives forever.
“The song is more like a prophesy for everybody that listens to it to be able to command authority; command respect and most of all, have mental wealth.’’
Korede also told NAN that the song was about his personal struggles, and how he triumphed to become a star from nothing.(NAN)

For Jeffrey Ufedo Akor, winner, MTN Project Fame West Africa Season 8, it was jubilation all the way last Sunday, as he smiled home with the grand prize of N5 million, a brand new SUV and a recording contract worth millions of Naira.
For this feat, the 18-year-old Sound Engineering graduate of SAE Institute, Cape Town, South Africa has now joined the likes of Iyanya, Mike, Ayoola, Chidinma, Monica, Olawale, and Geoffrey as Project Fame superstars.
In this interview with TS WEEKEND, Jeffrey narrated his beneficial and life-altering experiences while the show lasted. Hear him: “It has been a completely exciting season with weeks of hard-work and dedication. It started with the auditions that later translated into eight weeks of fun, tension and scintillating performances for the 16 contestants that made it into the Academy. I have learnt a lot from this experience and I give God the glory.”
Project Fame has produced seven winners, how do you intend to rank first among the rest?
I will remain Jeffrey. The only thing I know I have to do is ensure I do good music. I intend to do music that will last, not for a week, or a year but evergreen. I want to take music to the next level.
What was your most challenging moment during the competition?
It was the day I was on probation and had to perform on stage again. It was the only day I cried. I cried because after I finished performing, Uncle Ben said: ‘West Africa, what is Jeff doing on probation!’ That really touched me, and I am grateful because it was the Faculty that saved me that day. If the Faculty hadn’t saved me that day, that would have probably being the end.
Which female contestant did you have a crush on during the course of the competition?
All the ladies are beautiful but I didn’t have a crush on any of them. We were all focused, and we all had our eyes on the grand prize.
As the winner of the competition, what is your present status on social media?
Wow! I’ve been overwhelmed with congratulatory messages from people, even as I am speaking, they have not stopped coming. I’ve been expressing my appreciation to them all. Winning the grand prize has really jerked up my popularity. I am really grateful to everybody that has helped me achieve success.
Which artiste would you like to work with?
I’d like to work with Yemi Alade again. She is a great artiste who is highly spirited. She has good energy too. I’d also like to work with Praiz, Cobhams, Timi Dakolo, and so many others. We have very amazing artistes in this country. If I could work with all of them, I would.
Why do you think West Africa voted for you?
I think it was just God’s favour upon me. I don’t think it was just because of my singing. God wanted to favour me that was why He allowed the people to vote for me. I thank them for voting for me and making my dream come through.
What’s your educational background?
I had one-year training in Sound Engineering at the SAE Institute, Cape Town, South Africa. But I still intend to further my education by getting a B.SC in Sound Engineering.
Which Football club do you support?
Ha! I’m a big fan of Manchester United FC. Man U no ni!
If you hadn’t won this competition, would it have had any effect on your love for music?
Hmmmm! I would have been very, very disappointed. I participated in a competition with my brother when I was just 13-years-old and everyone thought we were going to win. In the end we didn’t get anything. So, when I registered for MTN Project Fame West Africa, my sister told me to be careful because she was sure if the first thing that happened to me occurred again, then I would just give music a break. If I had not won, I would have given music a break but now I won’t quit music. Music is my life; my everything. I sleep music, think music, eat music, and breath music. I want to use this opportunity to thank the judges, Faculty, Ultima Studios, MTN, viewers, and voters. Without them, Jeffrey would be nothing.
