Recall there were speculations and rumors about a love affair between Actor IK Ogbonna and Actress, Juliet Ibrahim.
Apparently, this rumor was given much credence by the numerous pictures of the two in very amorous positions on social media pages.
The deal is that IK Ogbonna has gotten married and it’s not to Juliet….obviously, since we would have known and made you know as well.
However, in an interview with NET, IK touched on his relationship with Juliet. When asked if he’s still close to the Ghanaian actress who he dated before getting married to his wife, he responded by saying that she’s in his past.
“I wouldn’t want to be going into the topic about me and Juliet. She is a colleague, we are in the same industry, we are in the same profession and what ever happened happened but you know it is in the past.”
“Like Pastor Jakes will say, if you’re still going back to your past, you can never move forward. Sometimes it is good to bury the past and move forward. Just wish everyone well because without those people that were in your past, you probably wouldn’t have been where you are today,” he said.
Human beings are animals of association, so as we grow older, as we continue to change with age, there is one thing we all get afraid of ……. the fear of being alone for the rest of our lives.
Frankly, there must come a point in everyone’s life when they feel alone and wish they had someone next to their heart.
Most of the time, people don’t wish for “just someone’ around them, rather, they wish for someone they can call their own, their “better half or life companion”.
Yes! it’s a universal truth that human beings don’t want to be alone in their old age. Now, no matter how tough, independent or strong a person is, this stage of life is always disturbing, depressing and nerve-wrecking especially on the part of the ladies.
No wonder the holy book(Bible) refers to marriage as an honourable institution.
Here in Nigeria, some cute and beautiful ladies are yet to tie the knot. Many Nigerians believe that some ladies made the dire decisions to stay single while some others feel that condition made it so for them (Na condition make crayfish bend).
Nigerian men however, believe that there are more serious reasons why many Nigerian ladies are yet to tie the know.
So, we want to explore these other reasons and see if it would help Nigerian ladies who did not consciously make the decision to stay single, leave spinsterhood.
1. Most Eligible Men Are Not Ready To Tie The Knot:
Are you aware that a lot of men who are eligible for marriage out there are still jobless and are struggling to make ends meet?
There is this firm believe that the Nigerian labor market favors the ladies more than men so that it seems like women achieve more in Nigeria without great effort than the men.
This does not indicate that men are not making it either. It just means that most of the men who are old enough to get married do not have the means of doing it because they are working tirelessly to make ends meet while some of the men want to have all the money possible before getting married.
But hey! This is the 21st century so if he does not have the means, you might as well do what the Bible says and be a helper.
Besides, you will not just be helping him, you will be helping yourself too.

A passer-by who found a massive diamond ring worth £50,000-£80,000 outside a Nando’s returned it to its owner in what he described as ‘a fairytale ending’.
The finder, Andy, saw the ring’s massive stones sparkling on the ground and decided to do the honourable thing and try to find the owner.
He launched a Facebook campaign to find who he described as the no-doubt ‘distraught owner’ of the ring, and today he met up with the older lady who it belonged to and returned it to her.
Andy said:
‘It’s a fairytale ending and shows just how much good social media can do. I feel like I have done my good deed for the year.’
Andy, 31, a consultant, was contacted by the owner earlier yesterday after he launched a Facebook campaign to find her and an article appeared on MailOnline.
He got into a taxi to meet her and the relative at a London jeweler and staff verified insurance records she held for the ring that proved it belonged to her.
Andy has no idea what the ring is worth but an independent jeweler who saw pictures of the ring on social media said the main stone was as big as 3.5 carats
Sharon Sheard, manager of Hatton Jewels Ltd in London qualified with the Gemological Institute Of America, said that if the ring was to be sold, she believes it could be worth £50,000-£80,000 if the stones in the pictures are diamonds.
He said:
‘I have lost my phone four or five times and mentioned it on social media. Every time I have had it returned to me – it’s like a boomerang.’
Andy said he found the ring in the early hours of the morning outside Nando’s after a night out with friends in the area, spotting it ‘sparkling’ on the ground.
He said:
‘I was stumbling home and thought I might pass some fast food joints seeing what tickled my fancy and it was freezing so I decided to hot-foot it home.
‘I was hunched up with my head down trying to stay warm, and just caught a glint.
‘I always considered myself quite lucky at finding a pound coin on the floor.’
The next day he launched the campaign to find the ring and in the hilarious Facebook post talking about finding the ring:
Andy added: ‘She was overjoyed because she had been upset and doesn’t want any attention, but she was very, very pleased to have it back.’
Nigerian megachurch leader Chris Oyakhilome is facing trouble in South Africa after refusing to comply with government orders to release his financial records.
According to a report in News 24, several prominent church leaders have not adhered to the demands of the South African Commission for the Promotion and Protection of Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Communities.
The Commission, led by Thoko Mkhwanazi-Xaluva is investigating the commercialisation of religion and the abuse of people’s beliefs within South Africa, where Christ Embassy has several branches.
“These people take money from people. What are they doing with that money? We want to know. We will not back down,” she said.
All those summoned to the hearings are required to produce their ordination certificate, the church registration certificate, bank statements and the annual financial statements dating from 2012.
“Some of these religious leaders will face prison if they do not comply and we have been clear about our course of action,” she insisted.
Mkhwanazi-Xaluva singled out Oyakhilome, stating that he insisted he would fight the commission in court before releasing his records.
“If he intends on that route, we are ready. He will have to face the same fate as the others who refuse to hand over their financial records,” she said.
In contrast, a source who attended the hearing of South African Bishop Stephen Zondo, stated that Mkhwanazi-Xaluva cited an equally controversial Nigerian megachurch leader, T.B. Joshua, as an example of one who openly used his finances to assist the less-privileged, something she expected of all clergy.
It is not the first time ‘Pastor Chris’, as he is affectionately known by his followers, has faced controversy. Last year, his wife Anita publicly filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.

On Wednesday, 2 gunmen shot dead a retired Navy officer, identified as Commodore Peter Ikre, in Festac Town, Lagos. It was learnt that the gunmen, who succeeded in robbing Ikre, trailed him to 52 Road junction on a motorbike where they attacked him while he was parking his Toyota Camry.
According to an eyewitness, who spoke to Vanguard on condition of anonymity,
“the deceased was an ex-naval officer. He was a regular guest at Summer Garden where he came to relax most evenings.
“He was coming from a bank when he was shot by two men on a motorbike. The gunmen ambushed the victim who was in his car. Then one of the men alighted from the motorbike and shot Baba (victim) who was alighting from his car. The gunman kept shooting the victim as he attempted to escape.
“One of the gunmen first shot Baba’s legs and continued to shoot him when he refused to hand over the money which he withdrew from the bank. Later, they collected his money and zoomed off. He was shot about 12 times, because we found 15 expended ammunition casings at the scene.”
The publication gathered that after the gunmen had escaped, sympathizers used the victim’s phone to contact his family member, who later brought some policemen to the scene.
Contracted, state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Joe Offor, said the Police received a distress call at about 12:05 that two men with pistol shot a retired Navy Commodore.
“The incident occurred at 52 Road junction, Festac town. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he gave up the ghost. 15 expended 9mm ammunition were recovered from the scene. Also, the victim’s car, a Toyota Camry ash coloured with number plate Epe 521 DA, was recovered. His corpse has been taken to Navy mortuary for autopsy.”
When Vanguard visited the residence of late Commodore Peter Ikre, sympathisers were seen commiserating with the family.
One of his sons, Rev Father William Ikre, who spoke with Vanguard, said:
My father was coming back after withdrawing money from the bank when they shot him. He was shot about 15 times around noon. I was in school when I received a call that my father has been shot. My mother is inside the house sleeping and can’t speak to anyone now.”

Hip Hop legendary group, Wu-Tang Clan have reportedly sold a single top secret album for more than $1 million with the condition its buyer can’t share the music publicly.
Wu announced it had spent 6 years recording a double album called “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin”.
The album was mainly recorded in Morocco. According to Forbes, it sold in a private sale through online auctioneer Paddle8 for a “price in the millions.“.
The American buyer wants to remain anonymous, like the record itself. Part of the mystery of Once Upon A Time In Shaolin’s sale may have to do with the elaborate restrictions around its release. The buyer must wait 88 years to release it to the public
“After 88 years the copyright, which includes public and commercial rights, automatically transfers to the owner of the work,”“However, it will still be his or her choice at that [point] to release it or not release it.”
The sale sets a new auction record for the highest price paid for a single album , The previous record was the 2015 sale of an acetate featuring Elvis Presley’s first songs My Happiness and That’s When Your Heartaches Begin, which went to musician Jack White for $300,000.

The Federal government has assured the country that it would commence payment of N5,000 promised to unemployed Nigerian youth during the electioneering campaign, from 2016.
Minister of youth and sports, Solomon Dalong, said this on Wednesday when he paid a condolence visit on the national chairman of the APC, John Odigie-Oyegun, over the death of Abubakar Audu.
Mr. Dalong, who spoke to journalists during the visit, said:
“I would want the youth to understand that every promise must be backed up by budgetary provision and our promise to pay N5000 is not contained in the 2015 budget. So, definitely, it is going to begin in 2016 as we have made budgetary allocations for that.
“We are committed to the campaign promises of creating jobs, providing wealth and combat poverty. We have embedded in our manifesto things that we are translating to reality.”

The Ethiopian man seen in the photo above has built his own plane after he was told he couldn’t be a pilot because he was too short.
Asmelash Zeferu did not want to let being too short stop him from flying a plane, so this weekend, the 35-year-old, plans to take his handcrafted K-570 light aeroplane to the air near the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa and marry his fiancé Seble Bekele when he lands.
He has never flown before and he hopes the attempt will be more successful than five months ago when a broken propeller thwarted his dream.
He learnt every aspect for aircraft manufacture from youtube videos and tutorials. 15 years ago when he tried to enrol at the Dire Dawa branch of the Ethiopian Airlines Aviation Academy. He was rejected, because at 1m 70cm (5ft 7ins) he was 1cm too short.
Speaking to CNN, he said:
‘I decided to build my own aircraft if I couldn’t be a pilot. Then I’d be able to fly high in the sky,’
Five months ago, he failed to take-off in his machine, on November 28, Zeferu will return to the same air field and rev his newly-modified machine.
Taking off at 90 mph, he will aim to reach an altitude of 10 meters which is not no mean feat considering he has
‘no parachute or anything to protect me.’To fly an aircraft is not a big deal,’
he explains
The greatest danger will be in landing.’
Despite support from his family, he says:
‘the biggest challenge in building my aircraft was the people around me… people calling me mad. People were asking ‘How can you build an aircraft in Ethiopia? In Africa?”’My dream is to become an aerospace engineer at NASA. And I will be,
It has been gathered that 44 men and 4 females were actually deported from the UK.
Online reports from the BBC and other media outlets stating that the United Kingdom deported 500 Nigerians have been proven false.
The 48 Nigerians arrived aboard a chartered flight, Titan Airways no ZT3931, at 8am at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos State yesterday.
The deportees were said to have been stranded at the airport waiting for family members and friends to come pick them up.
It was gathered that while 26 of the deportees had passports, 22 others were issued Emergency Travel Certificates by the Nigerian High Commission in the UK.
A lot has been flying online concerning Toyin Aimakhu and her marital life. After separating from her husband earlier this year and following the rumours that Toyin Aimakhu is planning to get married to her alleged new lover, Seun Egbegbe, the ‘Eta Oko’ actress has reiterated that she’s not dating the Lagos socialite. She said…
‘I don’t know where this story of me getting married to Seun Egbegbe is coming from. I think someone is behind all these. And I feel all these bloggers should always try to confirm their stories before publishing. First it was the story of me getting a thorough beating from Seun and now they said I am planning to marry him,’ she told NET.
Speaking further, the talented actress said, ‘I have said it times without number that I’m not dating Seun and I have never been beaten to a pulp by any man. Seun is my friend. You can only marry someone you are dating. And I don’t think I have time for any relationship now.’
Toyin Aimakhu, who ended her marriage with her co-actor husband, Adeniyi Johnson over allegations of infidelity a few months ago, also disclosed that she has no plans to remarry.
‘I don’t think I would want to get married again. I have tried it and it didn’t work. I just want to focus on my career for now. I have loads of project that I am working on and that’s basically what is giving me joy. I am setting up a movie academy in Ibadan and I have gotten a place that I would use for the school. ‘
An angry husband stormed a church service demanding his Sh200,000 loan that his wife gave as tithe for prayers against demons in a local church last Sunday.
Mr. Geoffrey Odhiambo said his wife took the money, for which a bank used his car as collateral, and gave it to the church, without his consent.
According to the wife, she gave the money as “tithe for prayers as there were evil spirits and devils in her house”.
An eyewitness, Lawrence Odengo said Mr. Geoffrey complained it was not the first time his wife had taken money to ‘Jesus Elevation Tabernacle’ located in the Kisumu CBD, Kenya.
It took male ushers more than 10 minutes to eject Mr. Geoffrey from the midday service moments before the APs Quick Response Team arrived.
He reported the matter at Kisumu Central police station.
Members of the public, who had glimpse of the drama at the place of worship they termed a “Pastor Kanyari church”, demanded its closure.

Currently in her 36th week of pregnancy, the worried mother took to her website on Tuesday to say how worried she is that her second child is currently in the wrong position for childbirth, with his head still facing upwards.
Breech babies are usually delivered by C-section, but the reality star said she had researched other options.
“My latest concern is that my baby is breech, meaning he’s in the wrong position for childbirth. His head is still up and it’s supposed to be down. He was supposed to turn by 32 weeks,”
So now, I will have to get a C-section. Or so I thought! As I lay awake late at night, researching, I’ve learned that you actually can deliver a breech baby and I feel fortunate that my doctor Paul Crane is one of the few doctors that still does this. They just don’t even teach it anymore.”
“I found it very interesting that I do have this option to deliver a breech baby as opposed to just jumping into a C-section.
“Obviously, if it’s an emergency and for the safety of my son, I will get a C-section – but if I don’t need one, I’d rather not.”
“I guess 4 percent of women are faced with [breech babies] – so, lucky me! It’s been hard because I usually go to my mom or [my sister] for baby and pregnancy advice, but they both – with nine total pregnancies! – have never experienced one of these crazy things.”
I lay practically upside down three times a day for 15 minutes.
“I play music in the right position and ice my belly in certain spots to get him to squirm out of the breech position. I even started accupuncture where I burn moxa (mugwort) on my pinky toe every day! I am even attempting hypnosis!”
A group of Muslim youths under the aegis of Muslim Youths in Da’wah on Tuesday at the headquarters of the National Youth Service Corps in Abuja protested against the ban on the use of hijab by female Muslim corps members, especially during orientation camps.
But the Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier-General, Johnson Olawumi, insisted on the ban, saying it was “for security reasons.”
The national coordinator of LMYiD, Luqman Hassan; and the Deputy Coordinator, Kamarudeen Adefila, had told the NYSC DG
“We are here to discuss with you about the incident that happened recently in various camps across the country. We have a guiding principle which is based on the Holy Q’uran. We are all Nigerians and the principle which guides us is the constitution and the African Charter on Human rights.
“Members of the NYSC are Nigerians who have contributed to the development of this country; female corps members deserve protection by the NYSC. We don’t believe that a female corps member putting on hijab has done any wrong against the Act establishing the NYSC. So they deserve the respect of the NYSC. We have travelled far and wide and visited different camps. Why are the rights of female corps members being infringed upon. We are here to register our displeasure.”
“Many Muslim organisations wanted to protest, but we said wait a while. In fact, we have to intervene to avoid the situation and if Muslims march on the streets, it will attract a lot of negative comments, but people won’t know why we are protesting,” Adefila had added.
In his response, Olawumi said:
“Under my leadership, the NYSC will accord respect to every corps member, irrespective of tribe and religion. The incident in Benue State was caused by the use of long hijab. The security situation in the country is tough. There is the danger of somebody using hijab for other reasons.
“There have been cases where young girls put on hijab and eventually turn to suicide bombers. Boko Haram members know how to get at whoever they want as target. That is why we frown at the wearing of long hijab. Please call on all your Muslim youths to be patient and adhere to it, just for a short period during the camp. We frown at long hijab because of the security implication.”
The NYSC DG expressed disappointment in the allegation by the visiting youths.
“Why are you so particular on your alleged infraction on the rights of youths without mentioning any one of such on Christian youths? Produce your evidence, write to us and I can assure you that we will act fast. When the incident in Benue State was reported to us, I swung into action and ensured that the camp commandant was decamped immediately. We are not magicians; if you have any evidence, write to us and we will not hesitate to act.”
The NYSC Legal Adviser, Ahmed Tijani Ibrahim, said the incident in Benue State was under investigation.
He said:
“I’m a Muslim and in our camps, I know that we have treated everybody equally. You mentioned the fact that you would have proceeded to protest. Very minor issues could trigger off mass protest.
“We will see the way forward to this complaint. I can assure you that the issue will not be swept under the carpet. The NYSC is very sensitive to the issue of religion and immediately we heard of it, we swung into action and we are on it because issues of religion are very sensitive.”
