A policeman’s son reportedly jumped 60 feet to meet his death from his city’s centre apartment after he wrote a suicide letter to his parents confessing that he was losing a battle to beat his cocaine addiction.
According to Daily Mirror, Chris McNally, 30, wrote in the letter:

Author of Beyonce‘s unauthorized biography “Becoming Beyonce” has disclosed contents of a letter she wrote to two of the real members of Destiny Child group.
The letter was dated January 5, 2000 and was addressed to LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett, who had fallen out with Mathew Knowles, Beyoncé’s father and the band’s manager, over how he was giving his daughter more of the spotlight and lead vocal parts.
As at that time, Beyoncé would have been 19 when she wrote to them and was already displaying her ruthless ambition to get to the top.
‘I have shared some of the best moments of my life with the two of you by my side. I have also shared some of the worst’.
‘(Think of) the white house on Parkwood (her family home) that you both spent many summers living in that we had to sell, the car we all piled into that we had to sell, the job that Mathew quit to dedicate countless hours to Destiny’s Child.

A suspected member of the kidnap crew who allegedly abducted Toyin, the wife of the Deputy Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of The Sun Newspapers, Mr. Steve Nwosu, at his Okota residence in Lagos, has been apprehended.
The suspect, Odo Sylvester, who is an Economics Student of the Kogi State University, and spoke with Daily Sun said he was only playing a prank and decided to cash in on the kidnap.
“Actually, I made a serious mistake by indulging in a stupid behaviour. I am a lover of The Sun Newspapers because I like the style of the paper. One of the writers that I admire is Steve Nwosu. When I looked at Nwosu’s column and I did not see his write up, so, I asked why he did not write and someone told me that his wife, Toyin, was kidnapped.
“I now said wow, it would be an opportunity to make money. I picked his number from his column. I now called him and told him that he should send me N100,000 so that I could link him to his wife. He agreed. I was thinking about it that the money was too small to bear such a risk. I then changed my mind and told him to pay N2 million, pretending that I hid his wife in my custody. He seemed to have agreed, but as he was negotiating on how to pay, the real kidnappers contacted him. When I called him again, he said I should not call him again. He said I should stop playing with him. I decided to keep my cool.
“I swear, I don’t know the kidnappers. I was only cashing in on the situation to extort money from Nwosu. If the police like, let them kill me, I don’t know the people that kidnapped Toyin. I am begging the government to look into the issue. I swear to God Almighty, I don’t know any thing about the abduction of Toyin.
“I was trailed through the phone number I used in communicating with Nwosu. I was picked in the school. I told you that I am an Economics Student of the Kogi State University. I am in 200 level. I am afraid that my arrest may affect my education.

A law student has alleged that she is being picked on because of her stylish and beautiful looks. The 18 year old says women need to stop being critical of each other’s appearance – after claiming classmates started judging her for making too much effort.
Paula Ursu, a first year student has only been at the university for a few weeks, but says she is getting strange comments and looks based on her appearance .
She revealed she has been asked why she makes so much of an effort and that she gets looked down upon for wearing make-up, heels and doing her hair.
Speaking to student newspaper The Tab, Paula said:
“People would say to me ‘oh you look dressed up for university’ and I would get strange looks from girls who then wouldn’t talk to me.In the beginning, I tried to explain myself, but now I just think it’s none of anyone’s business how I choose to look.”
The 18 year old considers herself to be a feminist, and dresses well because it helps her stay focused.
She said:
“It doesn’t even take me that long to get ready, maybe 20 or 30 minutes
I wake up, shower, have breakfast and then try to pick out a new outfit every day, do my hair and make-up and that’s it. It’s just a ritual.

A cultist has confessed that he wanted to avenge his brother’s murder but instead, killed the wrong person after his friend deceived him.
The suspect, a 21-year-old Morufu Liadi, allegedly killed 29-year-old motorcyclist, Lateef Sura, during a birthday party in the Alakara, Mushin area of the state.
Liadi, who had an accomplice, Rilwan Balogun, told Punch Metro that he stabbed the motorcyclist several times on the neck and on his waist till he died because he wanted to avenge the death of his brother who was killed in 2008.
Speaking with the publication on Tuesday, Liadi, who recalled that he stabbed Sura to death with a table knife, said he was told that the deceased was responsible for the death of his elder brother, Azeez, in April 2008.
“On that Sunday, my colleagues came to see me at home and said we were going for a birthday party at Agbekolade Street, Mushin. I usually stayed in the Oju Irin (railway) area . The Aiye and the Eiye cult gangs have a feud in the area.
“It was my friend, Rilwan (Balogun), and others at the party who pointed the man to me that he was the killer of my elder brother. I had not met the deceased before.
“My elder brother, Azeez, also known as Arsenal, died in April 2008. He was killed by cult boys. So, I jumped on the man and began to stab him. I stabbed him several times on the neck and on the back. I used a table knife. I did not know that I was deceived.
“I belong to the Eiye Cult. I joined the gang some time last year. I am not a student. I was working as a vulcaniser.”
Balogun, 23, an indigene of Kwara State, who reportedly pointed the deceased to Liadi, said he mistook the man for a cult member in Idi Oro.
He said:
“It is true that I was the one who pointed out the deceased to Liadi. We had been invited to the birthday party by friends. I told Liadi that the deceased was an Idi Oro hoodlum. And then they jumped on him and began to stab him.
“I dropped out of school in JSS 3. I subsequently learnt carpentry but I was jobless as of the time the police arrested me. When the deceased fell down, the party scattered and all of us ran home. But I was arrested by the police inside my house.”

In a crucial bid to try and put an end to the incessant deaths caused by suicide bombers in mosques, the Borno State Government has distributed metal detectors to Imams in the state to screen worshippers.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Borno State Governor on Media, Mallam Isa Gusau, after a meeting held on Sunday in Maiduguri, to plan strategies at stemming attacks on mosques in the state.
