A woman identified only as Gift has been arrested for fatally stabbing her lover, Eghosa after he caught her cheating on him with another guy.

According to information obtained, the event occurred on Monday, October 24 at Imafidon Street in Egor, Benin, Edo State. According to a source, the terrible occurrence took place when the deceased confronted her over seeing her with another man at his house.

“The deceased is my uncle. She had visited his compound to see another man and she was caught. Eghosa accosted her and it led to an argument. Before eyewitnesses knew what was happening, she picked up a knife from his kitchen and stabbed him in the neck. He passed on and she was almost sent to hell’s gate by neighbors who saw what had happened.”

“The irate eyewitnesses handed her over to security personnel while the deceased’s corpse was moved to the morgue” a source said.

Veteran Nollywood actor, Ralph Niyi, has revealed he’s being blackmailed by a yet-to-be identified person who is threatening to release his nude video online.

The thespian, who took to Instagram to cry out on Monday, shared his WhatsApp conversation with the blackmailer, who was asking him to pay a sum of 800K for the video not to be released online.

According to the 50-year-old, the blackmailer had been threatening to release his nudes if he does not grant his request.

He, however, disclosed that he told the blackmailer to go on with his threat, noting that he isn’t one to give in to blackmail.

His words,

“It is with a heavy heart that I come to you to tell you that I have a blackmailer on my tail, who is claiming to have a nude video of me. And for three days now, he has been threatening to go online if I don’t give him something.

“I am not one that will give in to blackmail. I have told him to go ahead. I have already spoken to a couple of friends and I want to thank them for giving me words of encouragement. My wife, and my family, I already told them when this happened. So please I just want to let you know.

Recall that the mother of four had, in an Instagram post on Tuesday morning, October 25, claimed that she and the thespian had parted ways.

World’s dirtiest man dies at 94 few months after taking his first bath in decades

An Iranian man dubbed ‘the world’s dirtiest man’ for not taking his bath for decades has passed away at the age of 94.

Amou Haji, who did not shower for 67 years and was unmarried, died in Dejgah village in the Southern Province of Fars on Sunday, October 23.

Haji stopped showering because he was scared of getting sick as he had an aversion to soap and water.

In conjunction with being dirty, Mr Haji also disliked fresh food and drink. His favorite food was rotten porcupine and he drank dirty water from a rusty oil can.

Haji, who spent most of his life in the village of Dejgah, also loved smoking animal feces out of an old pipe, rather than regular tobacco.

However, a few months ago, concerned villagers who were tired of his unkempt look, took him to a bathroom and forced him to have a wash.

They also built him an open brick shack to live in after discovering that he sleeps in a hole in the ground.

Mr Haji’s weird lifestyle was first made public in a short documentary film titled “The Strange Life of Amou Haji” published in 2013.

Few months after being forced to take a bath, Mr Haji has died at age 94.

A video of a man suspected to be Nigerian harassing his wife in public as he demands that she give him custody of their son has gone viral.

In the trending clip, the man made a scene at the Primary Place of Assignment (PPA) of his wife, who is a serving corps member.

The man, who claimed to be there to get his son, was quite aggressive as he held his wife by her dress and shoved her in different directions.

When the lady’s colleagues ran towards them to intervene, he yelled, “I need my son. I need my son. “

The wife, who was being harassed, broke down in tears as she narrated how she had fled their home due to incessant domestic violence from him.

In other news, a Malawian man, identified as Francis Banda, has demolished the houses he built for his wife and her mother after she dumped him for another man.

According to the aggrieved man who spoke in an audio recording shared online by Malawi 24, he and his wife have been married for 13 years and have three children together.

During the course of their marriage, he used his money and resources to build a house for his wife and another for his mother-in-law in her village.

However, things went south when his wife started cheating on him with another man, and recently moved out of their matrimonial home to stay with her lover.

Nigerian businesswoman, Sandra Iheuwa, has been captured in a leaked voice recording making the rounds online begging her estranged husband, Steve Thompson to take her back.

Recall that the couple, who married in a lavish ceremony that reportedly gulped 45 million Naira in August 2021, divorced just five months later.

Following their split, royal hair boss, Steve Thompson, in a series of social media posts, gave reasons why his marriage to Sandra ended.

Steve alleged that Sandra, who shares a child with talent manager, Ubi Franklin, married him for social media and not for the home, among other damning allegations.

As the estranged couple recently resumed dragging each other on social media, the voice recording of her pleading with Steve to take her back after their split emerged online.

Nigerian businessman, Steve Thompson has reacted after he was accused of threatening to kill his estranged wife, Sandra Iheuwa.

The couple, who tied the knot in August 2021 and separated barely five months after the wedding, have been at loggerheads since their marriage crashed.

Most recently, the divorce attorneys of the mother of one accused Steve of threat to life and inflicting grievous bodily harm on her in a petition to the Inspector General of Police and the American Embassy.

The lawyers also claimed Steve had extra-marital affair shortly after getting married to Sandra, and inflicted her with a sexually transmitted disease while she was pregnant.

Reacting to the allegation, Steve claimed Sandra begged him to reconcile with her but he refused and filed for a divorce. Following his refusal to patch things up, he claimed his ex-wife started peddling lies against him to anyone who cares to listen.

He further stated that the case in which he was accused of hurting Sandra and threatening her life was resolved in April, but she chose to revisit the issue again to get his attention.

Responding to Steve’s comment, Sandra said she doesn’t need his attention and only filed the petition to protect herself.

According to her, she has proof to back up her accusations and if her estranged husband does not set his pride and ego aside, she would expose him.

The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has revealed that she is 43% Nigerian.

The former American actress made this known in the latest episode of her podcast, Archetypes, where she opened up about her genetic heritage and expressed a desire to know more about her roots.

Speaking with Senegalese-American actress and comedian Issa Rae, Nigerian-American comedian and writer Ziwe Fumudoh, and professor Emily Bernards, Meghnan said she took a genealogy test which revealed that she is 43% Nigerian.

“I just had my genealogy done a couple years ago. I’m 43% Nigerian, “she said.

Dr. Bisi Olawuyi, a lecturer with University of Ibadan has taken to his social media page to refute the viral reports that he gave 10 of his students 100 dollars each for attending his first class.

On Tuesday morning, reports made rounds that the lecturer had gifted ten of his students the dollar notes for being the first students to attend his class following the suspension of ASUU strike.

Pictures of the dollar notes he had supposedly given them went viral, as students trooped to the lecturer’s page in droves to solicit for theirs.

It was also predicted that the attendance in the Lecturer’s next class would be massive.

However, the lecturer has dismissed the claim as false and has advised Nigerians to disregard it.

A woman who ended her marriage of 14 years for a man she met in a bar has narrated what transpired after getting ghosted by the new man.

Amanda Trenfield went viral on social media recently following news that she dumped her husband of 14 years for her ‘soulmate’ after she felt an ‘electric’ chemistry with him.

However, when she expressed her feelings to the man, named Jason, she was taken aback when he rejected her advances, leaving her single.

Amanda has now opened up on her decision in an interview with Moa Freedman on the ‘No Filter’ Podcast, where she narrated how it all happened.

According to her, she met Jason while she was on vacation with her husband to reignite their marriage. She and her husband had a chat with Jason over dinner, and then he invited them for a drink later on.

She said,

“It happened to be my favourite rose. And during the course of that evening, we just stayed talking – there was a depth of connection I just hadn’t felt before.”

A viral video has captured the moment controversial Nigerian singer, Portable, walked out of a show he was billed to perform at in Italy.

The Zazu Zeh star, who’s currently outside the country, was reportedly scheduled to perform at a show in Italy, but is said to have left his fans and concertgoers disappointed after he refused to perform and stormed out of the venue.

It’s alleged that Portable refused to perform and left the venue because the audience refused to spray him with money.

A video from the event making the rounds showed Portable hurling insults at the crowd while demanding that they spray him with money before he performs.

When the audience refused to do his bidding, the singer left the stage and tried to make his way out of the venue.

However, fans followed him to his car to insist that he return to the stage to perform, but again, he said they should first spray him with cash before he would return to the stage.

Body of 13-year-old boy swept away by flood recovered in Abuja

The body of a 13-year-old boy, identified as Tosin Faisal Otun, has been recovered four days after he was swept away by floodwaters in Abuja.

The victim’s sister, Toyosi, had earlier taken to Twitter to announce that he was missing following the incident in their house along SCC Road in the Bwari area of Abuja on Friday October 14, 2022.

According to her, Tosin was last seen when he was sent to get a goat tied beside a drainage channel close to their house.

“Pls, help find my brother. His name is Tosin Faisal Otun, a 13-year-old. He was swept away by water on Friday around 4pm, 14th October, 2022. Pls, retweet till we find him.” Her tweet read.

Confirming the development to Punch on Monday, October 24, Toyosi said her brother might have slipped in the process of untying the goat while it rained heavily in their community.

“He was sent on an errand to bring our goat into the compound. I think he tied the goat close to the drainage. So, he went to get the animal when the rain started. I think he slipped, “she said.

The deceased’s father, Adewale, said Tosin’s corpse was found four days after the incident, and he had been laid to rest.

“The reason why the information was tweeted then was that when the flood swept him away, we could not find his corpse. Eventually, four days after, we were able to find his corpse and he has been buried. The incident happened around 4pm,” he said.

Nigerian singer, Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed, professionally known as Bella Shmurda, has recalled the bad financial decisions he made earlier in his career.

Speaking in a recent interview, the Vision 2020 star, who said he now knows better, said he wished he could go back in time to undo some things.

According to him, he used to have money but, rather than spending it wisely, he rushed things.

He described how he once squandered two million naira in a club in one night, bought three cars at once because he wanted to always pull up in a convoy with his friends.

He said he now knows better and understands that it is dangerous to imitate another star’s lifestyle since their incomes are different.

2-month-old baby’s arm amputated after angry father allegedly battered him for disturbing his sleep

A Nigerian father, Mr. Confidence Amatobi, has been accused of brutalizing his 2-month-old baby in Imo state, leading to the amputation of one of his arms.

Amatobi is said to have assaulted his eight-week-old son, Miracle, with a plastic hanger and broke his arm for disturbing his sleep.

The incident led to the amputation of Miracle’s fractured arm at the Pediatrics ward of the Federal Medical Centre, FMC Owerri.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Imo State chapter, and the mother of the child have called on the Imo State government and the Nigeria Police Force to immediately arrest and prosecute the father.

The Imo State Chairperson of NAWOJ, Dr Dorothy Nnaji, who spoke to journalists after visiting the amputated boy at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Owerri, confirmed that the injury inflicted on little Miracle by his father led to the amputation of his right hand.

Mrs. Nnaji, who frowned at the dastardly cruel act of Mr. Amatobi, expressed shock that a father could assault his innocent child simply because he was crying and disturbing his sleep.

She disclosed that Mr. Amatobi was reported to have repeatedly hit the baby with a plastic hanger to stop him from crying until the right hand broke.

“The perpetrator, Mr. Confidence Amatobi, who hails from Amurie in Isu L.G.A used a plastic hanger on the baby, simply because he was crying that the mother left to ease herself. He used wood and elastic bands to tie the baby’s hand when he saw that hand was broken and swollen.

“He locked the mother and baby to prevent her from talking to neighbours or seeking help. He also took her phone from her. After two days she found her way out and sought help from her neighbours. The guy was arrested by a vigilante but he escaped. By the time help came, the baby’s hand was already decayed. The only option was to cut off baby Miracle’s right hand from shoulder,”

“I feel for the 20 year old Favor Chikwe who is too young to go through all this stress just because she went to easy herself. I am calling on lmo State Judiciary and all spirited individuals and Government to give justice to this innocent boy whose only crime was that he cried like any other baby.” Nnaji said.

The Imo State Coordinator of NHRC, Mrs Ukachi Ukah, who also reacted to the incident, condemned the brutality and insisted that justice must be allowed to take its course.

Narrating her ordeal, the mother of Miracle, Mrs. Favour Chikwe, 20, who hails from Idemili Community, Anambra State, disclosed that she had left Miracle with his father on Friday, October 7, 2022, to use the toilet when the incident happened.

She said she overheard her baby crying uncontrollably and had to rush back to find the cause of her cry, only to discover that his right hand was swollen and bone broken from the beating he received from his father.

She claimed her husband confessed that he battered the baby because he was disturbing him with his cries while he was sleeping.

“Upon noticing that he has broken the baby’s hand, he used sticks and rubber bands to bind the broken bones together. When l confronted him about what he did, he locked us in the room, to prevent me from telling people about his wicked deed or seek for help. He also collected my phone from me so that I will not call the neighbours.” Favour said.

A viral video showing church members gulping down alcohol shortly after a church service has caused a massive stir online.

In the trending clip that has elicited mixed reactions, the church members who were dressed in their white sutana were dancing and merry-making with bottles of alcoholic drinks in their hands.

Although it is unclear what the occasion was, the video clearly shows that the church members were having a good time.

At a point in the video, the ladies are seen passing around a bottle of Hennessy while hailing themselves.

The clip stirred conflicting reactions from social media users. While some netizens criticized them, others saw nothing wrong with their actions.

Popular Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, and his fiancée, Chioma Rowland, met the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwui, and his wives, Queen Mariam and Queen Tobi Philips, at an event recently.

The pair met the revered monarch at the wedding reception of Taiwo Afolabi’s daughter over the weekend.

Videos from the event that surfaced online captured the meeting and showed the moment Davido introduced Chioma to the Ooni and his queens as his wife.

As Chioma exchanged pleasantries with the king, he reminded her of her and Davido’s visit to his palace in 2018.

Popular Nigerian content creator, Nons Miraj otherwise known as Ada Jesus, has taken to social media to raise alarm over the predicted flood in some parts of Lagos state.

A statewide red alert was sent out recently to inform people residing in Lagos to expect high floods because the Oyan Dam has been released due to the rising water level in the dam.

People residing in Ketu, Alapere, Owode, Alagbole, Isheri, and other neighboring locations were advised to relocate to avoid being affected by the flood.

In an apparent reaction to the flood scare, Ada Jesus in a video shared on her Insta-story, expressed deep concern about the impending flood, while stating that she is not a good swimmer and is at risk of being swept away by the water.

The perplexed skit maker also questioned what should be done to prepare for the flood in terms of buying food stuff, moving her car to a higher ground, etc.

She said in part,

“We are going about our daily life. You people are not hearing there is flood. I don’t even know how to rant. I don’t even know what to say. At this juncture, everybody should be panicking. Me I don’t even know how to swim. We gats dey panic because it’s getting closer.

A student of the Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, identified simply as Celestina, has been killed by unknown gunmen while on her way home after her induction ceremony.

The medical student was said to be returning home to her family in Abuja when she was shot dead by yet-to-be identified assailants.

The devastating news of her death comes just 13 days after she was inducted into the Medical Laboratory Council of Nigeria.

Before her passing, Celestina was a two-time Vice President of an organization, Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students (FECAMDS) Nigeria.

May her soul rest in peace!

The Georgia Southern University student died on Sunday night, October 16, in front of his date after walking into the spinning propeller of a small plane on the way back from a date.

Aliyu had hired a plane to take him and his date to Savannah for dinner, which is around 55 miles from Statesboro, the main campus of the university, where he was studying.

After the date night, the plane landed back safely at the Statesboro-Bulloch County airport. However, while exiting the plane, Aliyu headed to the front, where he was struck twice by the plane’s propeller on the back of his head.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at Statesboro-Bulloch County Airport.

A video making the rounds online has captured the romantic moment singer, Davido paused his performance to ask of his fiancée, Chioma, when he didn’t see her in sight.

The singer was performing at his logistics manager, Isreal DMW’s wedding when he beckoned on one of his aides to call his woman, Chioma, out.

As soon as Chioma joined him on stage, the singer continued his performance, singing his hit track “Assurance,” which he released in 2019, singing her praise.

Towards the end of the video, Chioma is seen spraying wads of cash on the couple, when Davido moves to her and starts singing to her, drawing a loud cheer from the audience.
