Nigerians on social media have sent their prayers and well wishes to popular actress, Kemi Afolabi, as she begins her Lupus treatment in a US hospital.
This comes three months after the actress opened up on her battle with the disease and disclosed that doctors told her she has five years to live out of which she has lived one year.
Lupus is a disease that occurs when your body’s immune system attacks your own tissues and organs.
Following the sad revelation, it was alleged that Kemi went to Christ Embassy Church in Lagos to be healed, and a purported picture of a woman said to the actress being ministered to by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was shared online to support the claim.
However, the 44-year-old actress came out to debunk the report while stating that she is a devout Muslim and didn’t visit any church for prayers. She further dismissed claims of being the woman in the viral picture.
In a new development, Kemi has begun treatment for the life threatening disease in a hospital in the United States.
She took to her Instagram page to share the update on Friday, July 1, and appreciated the good Samaritans who made it possible for her to begin treatment.
Sharing a montage, she wrote,

It would be recalled that following reports that Funke Akindele’s marriage to JJC Skillz has crashed, rumor had it that Toyin’s marriage is also turbulent and on the verge of collapse.

The mother of one, who recently revealed she and her husband, Ajeboh, had called it quits since 2020, stated this in an Instagram post following news of actress Funke Akindele’s marriage crash.
According to Tega, men do not endure in marriage; hence, she would prefer to live a fulfilling single life than put up with an abusive marriage without mutual respect.

Slain Abuja corps member, Stephanie Terungwa laid to rest (Photos)
A female corps member, Stephanie Terungwa, who was abducted and killed in Abuja, has been laid to rest.
The 25-year-old was declared missing after leaving home for her Community Development Service (CDS) in April. She was later found dead, with her body mutilated.
The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Sunday Babaji, revealed that a female suspect, Jennifer, who was arrested in connection to Stephanie’s murder, conspired with two male suspects to murder the victim so as to be with her partner, Edward Achadu.
The police said Jennifer, who is Edward’s alleged ‘estranged lover,’ poured corrosive substances on Stephanie in a bid to separate her from Edward.
Stephanie was laid to rest in her hometown, Mbakumbur, Mav-Ikyov, in the Ushongo Local Government Area of Benue State on Thursday, June 30.

A man was stripped down to his underwear after he was caught disguised as a woman at a branch of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Lagos.
It was gathered that the suspected criminal went to the RCCG Solid Rock Chapel in the Ojodu area of Lagos state, in the early hours of Thursday, June 30, dressed as a woman.
A security guard became suspicious of him and moved to confront and search him as part of the security protocols of the church.
While being searched, the security guard discovered that he was a man disguised as a woman and found three phones in his possession.
An eyewitness who gave an account of the incident said,
“He came to church this morning as a woman but our guard suspected him.
“After much talk, they suspected he is not what he claimed to be. The church guard had to undress him before we discovered that he is a man but dressed to church like a woman.

A Catholic priest, Fr. Evaristus Bassey, has caused a stir online after he shared a photo of “Virgin Mary” that allegedly appeared to parishioners at St. Charles Lwanga in Calabar.
The priest shared photos of the “Virgin Mary” on Twitter and said many people, including non-Catholics, “saw her image.”
He claimed that the peculiar event that occurred on Wednesday, June 22, signified God’s presence with them.
“On Wednesday 22-6-2022 the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared in one of our parishes in Calabar, St. Charles Lwanga. It was something more than 100 people witnessed,even a Protestant pastor who came to visit his cousin, the assistant priest.
He took these pictures. The rays around her were too bright for a clear picture. She moved up to the Shrine dedicated to her and then was taken up. It was amazing, the entire aura around the parish, that evening. She didn’t say anything to anyone. But I think she came to assure of God’s presence with us.
Even the rays of light on the premises showed there was something happening. May the prayers of our Blessed Mother help our country Nigeria. Amen.” He tweeted.

INTERPOL arrest alleged Nigerian cybercrime kingpin in South Africa for $12m romance scam and BEC fraud
INTERPOL, in collaboration with the US Secret Service, South African Police and other agencies, has arrested an alleged Nigerian cybercrime kingpin, James Aliyu, in connection with $12m romance scam and business email compromise fraud.
Aliyu was arrested in a luxury Sandton estate in South Africa on Wednesday, June 29 and arraigned in the Randburg magistrate’s court.
According to TimesLive, the Nigerian national is well known in SA social circles and on Instagram thanks to his lavish holidays and excessive spending on luxury items for him and his girlfriend.
His social media posts where he flaunts his wealth have gained him 17,000 followers on his Instagram account Oldsoldier.
His spending came to an end when Interpol agents arrested him at his house situated in a luxury Sandton estate, bringing to an end five years of alleged scamming activity.
According to law enforcement sources, after an almost six-year-long investigation into the alleged scammer’s activities, he was arrested thanks to a multi-agency investigation that included Interpol, the US department of homeland security investigations and the US Secret Service.
Sources claimed Aliyu has allegedly been in contact with several major convicted and suspected fraudsters from around the world and that he is considered a major player.
Among the fleet of luxury vehicles he allegedly bought with the proceeds of alleged fraud were a Porche Cayenne, a Mercedes C220d and a Mercedes-Benz G Class luxury SUV. His social media profiles also depict him on luxury island resorts and luxury holidays in Dubai and the US.
Aliyu is alleged to be part of an international syndicate, some of whose members have already been convicted in the US.

Controversial Nollywood actor, Uche Maduagwu has come for relationship adviser, Blessing Okoro, who recently went under the knife to enhance her backside.
Blessing Okoro had taken to her social media page to share a video of the post-surgery body while wiggling it at the camera joyfully.
According to Blessing, She said she told the doctors that she wanted a moderate butt.
Reacting to the videos she shared after the surgery, Uche Maduagwu criticized the result and said her butt wasn’t properly aligned. He also mocked her, asking if she went to a place where they were doing “Butt Lift Bonanza.”

A Nigerian man who stays in Lagos state, raised alarm after his wife was almost abducted by suspected kidnappers along Ozumba Mbadiwe road on the Island on Tuesday, June 28.
In a thread shared on his Twitter handle, the man with the handle @groovereben, shared photos of his spouse with her bruised body and almost disfigured face.
He wrote,
“The level of arm robbery and kidnapping going on in Lagos is scary. On Tuesday evening my boarded a korope (mini bus) from Sandfill, on entering the bus she sensed something wasn’t right, she asked the driver to drop her, he refused but rather increased the speed
The person seated next to her insisted on closing the door, she refused, she started dragging the door with them and started shouting and was still dragging the door with them. When got to somewhere around civic centre they pushed her down
I want to thank the good Nigerian who rushed her to Onikan Health centre, I also want to thank the security men, the nurses and doctors at Onikan health centre for giving her first Aid treatment before we arrived.

Lere Olayinka, an ex-aide to former Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, has given his two cents over reports of actress Funke Akindele and her husband, JJC Skillz, separation.
He stated that he had to move out of their home three months ago after Akindekle insisted he did, and had not been able to have a sit down with her since the Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards on May 14.
“Months ago and at Funke’s insistence, I moved out of the house and apart from AMVCA have not been able to get Funke to sit down in an amicable manner to discuss the future of our relationship,” JJC wrote.

Buhari made this appeal during a meeting with some selected Nigerians in Lisbon, Portugal, on Wednesday June 29. He enjoined them to continue to be ambassadors of Nigeria in their actions and character.
Speaking further, the president urged Nigerians in diaspora to ensure they use social media platforms to promote national unity and not incite hate.

Content creator, Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, popularly known as Kiekie, has reacted after she was accused of mocking actress Funke Akindele over her failed marriage.
The news of Funke Akindele’s split from husband, JJC Skillz, rocked the internet on Thursday morning after the rapper announced the end of their marriage on his official Instagram page.
This announcement triggered a lot of reactions from both fans and followers, who have continued to air their opinions about what might have gone wrong in the home of their one-time favorite couple.
Amid this, content creator, Kiekie, shared a hilarious video about ‘breakup’. Kiekie, who was displaying funny dance moves in the clip, shared it with the caption, “How you dance when they serve the person that served breakfast breakfast.”

Real estate developer, Babatunde Gbadamosi has taken to social media to share a cryptic post following news of Funke Akindele’s separation from her husband, JJC Skillz.
It would be recalled that JJC Skillz took Nigerians by surprise on Thursday morning, June 30, after announcing the end of his marriage to the award-winning actress Funke.
According to him, their marriage has been turbulent in the past two years and he was forced to move out of their home by the actress three months ago.
Following the news, real estate developer Babatunde Gbadamosi, who is said to be a former client of the actress, took to his Instagram page to seemingly throw shade at the couple.
He wrote about being served “breakfast” which is a slang for breakup, and stated that “all masquerades” will eventually be served breakfast at a great cost.
