A 21-year-old Nigerian man, Aigbe Onyisi, has been arrested for stealing an air conditioner in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.

Onyisi, who’s said to be an ex-convict, was nabbed by men of the Anioma Security Watch Network while trying to make away with the air conditioner.

The suspect confessed to having connived with one Aboi to steal the AC but ran out of luck while his accomplice managed to escape, according to Ika newspaper.

The suspect pleaded for leniency, claiming that he went into crime because there was no help and that he learned barbing but didn’t have the capital to establish the business.

The Coordinator of Anioma Security Watch Network Ika zone, Cadet Nwanne Ajari, who confirmed the arrest, said the suspect has been terrorizing Odozi, Baleke, and Iregwa marketers.

Ajari stated that the suspect has been apprehended a number of times, and he has just been released from prison after having completed his punishment for previous crimes.

He revealed the suspect has been handed over to the police for further investigation.

In related news, operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command, have rearrested a suspect previously arrested for pickpocketing and stealing in 2017.

27-year-old Tunde Ajeigbe who embarked on a robbery mission with his accomplices Ekene and Bolenbe, was arrested after he jumped off a bike to snatch an android phone from a commercial bus passenger at 7UP area of the state.

The robbers were given a hot chase by residents of the community who also alerted the RRS operatives underneath Otedola bridge. Tunde was apprehended while two of his accomplices who abandoned their motorcycle escaped after also being given a hot chase by the police officers.

Confessing to the crime, the suspect recalled how he was arrested for a similar crime in 2017 by the police. He said in his confessional statement.

Popular Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh has advised parents to check on their sons schooling in Abuja, the country’s capital.

The mom-of-two took to her Instagram page on Monday, May 29, to dish this advise to parents with children schooling in boarding schools.

According to her, such parents should monitor their children and call them often to know how they are fairing in school.

She stated that this is pertinent to prevent another case of molestation or sexual assault.

The 36-year-old thespian wrote,

“Dear Parents,
If you have a son schooling in Abuja. Please do video call with them through out this period!!!
We don’t want to hear #justiceforanyone’sbumbum”

This comes on the heels of different cases of bullying, sexual abuse, and other sexual vices amongst students in secondary school.

A while ago, Tonto Dikeh advised people to guard their hearts because the “devil” is at work.

The mum of one, in a post she shared on her Instagram page, pointed out that a lot is currently happening on social media and in real life, and advised people to be mindful of the information they consume.

This comes shortly after she unfollowed her lover, Prince Kpokpogri, on Instagram following alleged reports that he has been cheating on her.

Tonto Dikeh added that people shouldn’t protect anything that will eventually destroy them.

Annie Idibia, Nollywood actress and wife of singer 2Baba, has reacted to claims that she unfollowed him on Instagram.

It was earlier reported that the mother of two unfollowed 2Baba on the popular photo sharing platform, Instagram, amid his reunion with his baby mama, Pero, and their children in the US.

A check on Annie’s page showed that she was no longer following the singer on the platform.

However, reacting to the reports, Annie Idibia noted that it was a glitch on the platform, which made her lose some followers.

Celebrity stylist, Toyin Lawani has disclosed that actress Caroline Hutchings once accused her of being the cause of her failed marriage to billionaire, Musa Danjuma.

It may seem as though there’s a brewing feud between legendary singer, 2Baba, and his wife, Annie Idibia.

The celebrity couple fueled speculation that there’s a feud between them after 2Baba’s wife, Annie, unfollowed him on the popular photo sharing platform, Instagram, and has since flooded her page with cryptic posts.

This comes after 2Baba, who recently got a tattoo of all his seven children’s names on his arm, reunited with his baby mama, Pero, and her children in the US.

During his visit, 2Baba attended his daughter, Ehi’s, school game to cheer her up and Pero took to her Insta-stories to hail him.

It appears this did not sit well with Annie Idibia. A quick check on Annie’s Instagram page showed she’s no longer following her husband’s Instagram. See screenshot below.

Popular media personality, Frank Edoho has responded to a critic of a popular game show he anchors, Who wants to be a Millionaire.

It would be recalled that WWTBAM made a comeback in March after a four-year hiatus, and Frank Edoho was returned as its host.

Well, a Twitter user took to the microblogging platform to state that the show has been boring and not as good as it was before the long break.

“The show is not as before… boring”, the Twitter user wrote.

A Nigerian Pastor, Oge C. Ogwe has stated via his Twitter handle that God does not create babies.

According to Pastor Oge, questions like “If God already knows that the world is evil, why does he still send children to be born?” might sound intelligent, the premise is deeply flawed because God does not create babies.

He averred that babies are formed in the mother’s womb as a result of fellowship between man and woman, and not because “there’s a baby-making factory in heaven”.

In his words;

If God already knows that the world is evil, why does he still send Children to be born? I know this sounds like such an intelligent question, but the premise is deeply flawed. Here’s why; GOD DOESN’T CREATE BABIES AGAIN!

I know you think there’s a baby making factory in heaven and the babies are being sorted (just like in Boss Baby, but babies are formed in the mother’s womb, as a result of fellowship between man and woman. They pray in tongues violently and 9 months later, boom, a baby!

Seriously now, Men and Women make babies! Men and Women choose to bring babies into this world. After God created Adam and said “Be fruitful and multiply”, the Job became man’s! God can have a plan for an unborn child (just like in Jeremiah’s case)

But only after the parents decide to have that Child! So your question is best phrased this way…. If parents know that there so much evil in the world, why do they choose to bring children in?! Don’t blame God for something that is entirely up to men and women.

If God already knows that the world is evil, why does he still send Children to be born?

I know this sounds like such an intelligent question, but the premise is deeply flawed.

45-year-old accountant commits suicide after a long battle with depression in Lagos

An accountant, identified as Folake Abiola, has taken her own life at her residence at Osapa London, in the Lekki area of Lagos State.

The 45-year-old who works with telecommunications company, Glo, reportedly died after drinking a bottle of insecticide on Friday, May 27.

Her lifeless body was found by some of her family members, friends and men of the Nigerian Police Force shortly after.

According to a colleague of the deceased who spoke with Punch anonymously, Folake had been battling with depression for years and claimed she had been saying she wanted to committed suicide for a while.

Addressing rumors that the deceased committed suicide due to loneliness from being unmarried, the colleague said it’s false because Folake had been in two romantic relationships.

“She had been suffering from depression for years and her death has nothing to do with loneliness or lack of a husband or sex. Within the last seven years, I know she was in a relationship twice.

She ended those relationships on her own because of depression. She said she did not want to bring someone else into her life when she could not take care of herself. She was going through extreme depression, but people that did not know what she was going through have been posting rubbish online.

She was a senior accountant at a telecoms firm and we are colleagues. She took her life herself and was buried that same Friday as she was the only Christian in her family.” the colleague said.

The colleague went on to describe Abiola as an angel, a lover of Christ, a conscientious account and a giver.

Former Presidential aide, Reno Omokri has shared his thoughts on why suicide rate is low among members of Catholic Church.

Taking to Twitter on Monday, May 30, Reno stated that Catholics rarely commit suicide because they can easily share their burdens with their Priests.

According to him, you can enter into any Catholic Parish to seek counsel and help from a Catholic priest and receive help without knowing the priest.

The social media commentator also opined that if all churches can imbibe this culture, the rate of depression and suicide among Christians will reduce.

Man who graduated from Harvard returns to Nigeria to celebrate parents at their small bookshop

A Nigerian man has taken to LinkedIn to celebrate his parents after graduating from two Ivy League universities in the United States – Harvard and Wharton.

The man, identified as Temitope Akande, paid a visit to his parents at their small bookshop in Lagos and gave them matching Harvard sweatshirts.

According to him, his parents used the proceeds from the bookstore to fend for him while growing up and he couldn’t have come this far without their help, especially his mother.

He shared a picture of himself and his parents standing in front of the bookstore on Sunday, May 29, and wrote,

“We don’t come from wealth or privilege, just a lowly young boy from Àgbàdo, but we made it anyway.

Couldn’t have done it without these 2 phenomenonal people, especially my mother! She’s my hero!

This bookstore behind us practically raised me.. It made sure we didn’t starve, and It was the place where I spent countless hours immersed in books, reading about worlds far far away, and expanding the limits of what I could aspire for myself. Today, I’m a graduate of Wharton and Harvard. I’m so grateful! ”

News of Popular Nigerian comedian, skit maker and content creator, Chukwuemeka Emmanuel, popularly referred to as Oga Sabinus, threatening to sue popular brand, peak milk over the alleged usage of his trademarked phrase, “Something hooge“, has been rife on social media.

A pre-suit notice dated 27 May 2022 which was signed by his lead counsel, Mr Stanley Alieke, has the comedian demanding from Peak Milk the payment of N500m for the alleged unauthorized use of his intellectual property and another N500m for damages for the “emotional, physical, psychological and mental trauma our client has suffered for the trademark theft and the infringement of his intellectual rights property”.

Sabinus shared how a company belonging to Peak Milk, Friesland Food Wamco Nigerian PLC, used his trademarked slogan “Something Hooge” for the advert and promotion of their product, Peak Milk.

He revealed that the advert was made on Peak Milk Nigeria’s verified Instagram page (peak_milk) on 24th of May 2022. The comedian stated that the said slogan was trademarked on 26 November 2021 with the FILE NINIBER: NG/TM/O/2021/48316.

As at the time of filing this report, the post is still up on the brand’s page with no statement from them yet, regarding the comedian’s lawsuit.

A Nigerian nurse who recently relocated to the United Kingdom has stated that life in the UK is not as pleasant as she had imagined.

The young lady in a viral video said she relocated to the United Kingdom because of the good things she’d heard about the country, but upon getting there she realized it was overhyped.

The lady expressed her dissatisfaction with the high cost of living in the UK, stating that after receiving her salary and seeing the expenses she is supposed to pay out of it, she will be left with nearly nothing.

She stated that Africa is blessed, and that putting food on the table in the UK is a struggle, but she does not wish to return to Nigeria until things improve.

“Na hype dem hype this UK, na overhyping dem hype am, na em bring me here. I woke and saw my salary…by the time you pay house rent, pay council tax, gas, water…If you know anybody wey wan come UK, make una no dey tell the person congratulations, because here it’s a struggle, you’re struggling to eat, you’re struggling to pay bills. A heavy rain that occurred in Imo state recently caused serious flooding in some areas and a small barber shop suffered as a result.

Unfortunately, a customer was in the barber shop at the time getting his hair done, when the rain started and the flooding trapped him and a few others inside.

In the video that was shared online, rain water is seen heavily flowing from outside into the small barber shop through the entrance. With their feet raised and waiting for the downpour to reduce, the men can be heard lamenting the state they found themselves in.

The gentleman who has having his hair cut at the moment is also heard saying “this is very unprofessional” and his remark has left a lot of people in stitches, with many wondering why he was seemingly putting the blame on the barber.

In other news, a video has captured the moment two officers were dragging the steering wheel with a driver while the vehicle was in motion.

In the video, the officers who wore all-black outfits, are seen struggling with the driver and commanding him to park the vehicle.

Noel Clarke, a British actor, has confessed that he considered suicide after more than 20 women accused him of sexual misconduct.

Clarke maintained at the time that he “vehemently” denied any sexual misbehavior or criminal activity, and that no criminal charges had been filed against him.

The actor added that he was deeply sorry if any of his actions affected people in a way he did not intend or realise.

Speaking to The Mail on Sunday, Clarke disclosed that he considered cutting his own throat with a knife, but a question from his 11-year-old son snapped him out of it.

In 2021, the Guardian published the allegations of misconduct from the women who all knew Clarke in a professional capacity.

“Twenty years of work was gone in 24 hours. I lost everything,’ he told the newspaper, adding that his career has been cancelled by the allegations. The company I built from the ground up, my TV shows, my movies, my book deals, the industry respect I had. In my heart and my head it has damaged me in a way I cannot articulate.” Clarke told The Mail.

Following the claims against Clarke, ITV canceled the final episode of the drama Viewpoint in which he starred, and Sky, which had shown Clarke’s series Bulletproof, announced that it would no again work with him.

His membership in Bafta was also revoked, as was his prize for outstanding British contribution to cinema, which he had received in 2021.

However, in March of this year, police announced that no criminal investigation would be undertaken into allegations of sexual misconduct leveled against him.

Scotland Yard said in a statement in March 2022 that expert officers had conducted a comprehensive investigation, but the information did not reach the threshold for a criminal probe.

A Nigerian man has averred that a man will not cheat on his wife if she’s submissive to him.

The man, identified as Waziri Mohammed, from Borno State, made this assertion in a Facebook post.

According to him, men will not cheat if their wives are submissive.

“No man cheats when the wife is submissive”, he wrote.

Meanwhile, media personality, Daddy Freeze has opined that submission in marriage goes both ways, and it’s not reserved for women alone.

He said this while reacting to Bishop Oyedepo’s post on social media where he opined that the only way to a fruitful marriage is total submission on the part of the wife.

The clergyman had earlier shared his opinion on marriage via a post on Instagram that read ;

“The only way to a fruitful marriage is total submission on the part of the wife. Until it is in place, every other thing she tries to do will be out of place. A woman who refuses to submit to her husband is disobeying God. As a woman, you might even be a minister of the gospel, and your husband is not, the Word of God still says to submit yourself to him.”

Which he backed up a biblical verse: “A submissive woman is precious in the sight of her husband – Ephesians 5:22.”

Daddy Freeze, however, countered this school of thought as he thinks it is subject to patriarchy and misogyny. In an open letter to the founder of Living Faith Ministries, He stated that submission goes both ways. It’s not reserved for women alone.

A supposed mistress boldly sent a message to the wife of the man she’s supposedly sleeping with via a video she shared on social media recently.

In the video, she records herself side by side with a gentleman and points out that she’s with him in a hotel before saying his wife should “take charge at home while she takes charge in the hotel”.

She makes the video in her native dialect and says a proverb suggesting that if the wife can conform to the arrangement she made, then there won’t be any disagreement and peace would reign.

The video was shared online and netizens had a bunch of things to say, with many of them questioning her morals and why people would go to any extent just to make content to share on social media.

In other news, A distraught wife has taken to a social media page to seek marital advice as she revealed that her Mother-in-law’s love for her Son whom she is married to is having a toll on their marriage.

The wife shared shocking details about the Mother-in-law sleeping in between herself and her husband every night and when she complained to her Hubby, he explained that it has been the norm since he was an only Son.

Comedian, Zics Aloma breaks silence on allegation of demanding coitus for roles in his Comedy skit

Instagram skit maker, Zics Aloma, has reacted to an allegation of demanding for sex for roles from the actors he features in his comedy skits.

The ‘damning’ allegation was shared online last week by a controversial blogger who berated Zics for taking advantage of up and coming comedians.

Well, Punch reached out to the comedian over the weekend in a bid to get him to deny or confirm the allegation.

Reacting, the 30-year-old said he won’t clear the air about the rumour, and people should believe whatever they want to believe about him.

According to him, it’s normal for people to spread rumour about a successful person.

His words,

“I really don’t want to talk about these things. I have been told that if people don’t talk about one, it means one is really not doing well. I don’t blame any blog for writing whatever they want; I blame people who give them audience, because they are just looking for ways to drive traffic to their blogs. I am not clearing any air. People can believe whatever they want to believe.

“The best thing is for you to watch my skits. Anybody that looks like an up-and-coming comedian should be asked what they did for me to feature them. Everyone that becomes successful, most pass through a channel. I became successful because I put in hard work. I shot content for years without being recognised until it got to a point when I was recognised by people and my content started going viral.

“I work with anybody who I feel can deliver. I shoot most of my contents with celebrities. That does not negate the fact that I can work with someone who has just 20 followers. Controversial Nollywood actor, Uche Maduagwu, has advised celebrity bar man, Cubana Chiefpriest to hit the gym.

This comes after the socialite shared a photo of himself relaxing while on holiday in Bodrum, Turkey, with delicacies in front of him.

In his caption, Chiefpriest advised youths that while they work on having a summer body, they should also hustle hard for money. According to him, “summer money is better than a summer body”.

“You have summer body but you don’t have summer money, no be juju be that. How & where you wan go show the body. Hustle oh!!!! Make your summer body no end for bar beach. As you dey hustle for better body no forget to get plenty money.” He wrote.

The caption seemed to have not sat well with Uche Maduagwu, who slammed him for the advice and urged him to work out more.

In his opinion, Maduagwu noted that a summer body is better than an obese one. He then urged Cubana Chiefpriest to work on his weight so he could enjoy his riches.

“My brother, health is the biggest wealth. Yes it is good to get summer money, but what is the essence of summer money, when summer obesity is dancing zazu for your body ! Ask any doctor and they will advice that obesity is not fashionable. Bro work out more so you can enjoy all your summer zobo money”, he wrote.
