Woman arrested for stealing newborn baby who later died in Ondo
The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a 35-year-old woman, Funmilayo Mogbojuri, for allegedly stealing a newborn baby at Sabo in the Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Funmi Odunlami, who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, July 20, said the suspect was apprehended in Sagamu, Ogun state, five days after she absconded with the baby.
The suspect, Funmilayo, had earlier stolen a baby from the residence of another woman in Okitipupa in January 2021, but the baby died a few days later, according to the PPRO.
“On 13th July, 2022, one Abass Issah of Arikawe Street, Okitipupa came to the Station and reported that his new born baby was stolen by unknown persons. Discreet investigation by Okitipupa Divisional Policemen led to the arrest of one Funmi Mogbojuri ‘f’ age 35years who absconded with the baby to Makun, Sagamu in Ogun State”.
“During interrogation, she confessed to have absconded with the baby to her husband’s house one Odunayo Ayobami ‘m’, it was also discovered that she stole another baby on the16th of January, 2021, in Okitipupa, took the child to Igbokoda and gave him to one Lucky ‘m’ and said the child died few days later. Investigation is on going.” The statement read.
Funmilayo, who confessed to the crime and pleaded for forgiveness, said she did not understand the spirit that entered her to have committed such an act.
The baby’s mother, Binta Alhassan, described how the event occurred, claiming that the lady abducted the infant while she was taking a bath.
According to Binta, the suspect begged her for a place to stay the night and she consented by offering her a room. However, the next morning, when she was leaving the restroom, she was shocked to discover that the suspect had fled with her child.

However, the straw that broke the camel’s back was when he came to cause a scene at a restaurant while she was on a date with her longtime male friend.

My friend on the side asked me if I was okay. I explained to him what “my lord” was doing on the phone.
My lord called back, and him being the proper fool that he is, proceeds to ask me if the way I said “Hello” was the way I was supposed to address him. I didn’t even know When I burst out laughing, apparently my laughter aggravated his supposed anger and dude hung up again.
He called back and asked me if I was with a man, I replied yes. He said that was why I was talking to him like that, I kept quiet. He asked me where I was, I told I was in a restaurant, he asked which one, I refuse to disclose. He started ranting. He said I was with another of my boyfriend and I was cheating on him. My friend who was there all along, listening to the back and forth squabbling, asked me to concede our location to him.
In jiffy, dude called me that he was outside the restaurant and that I should come out, I and my friend were done from the restaurant and we both went out. My lord was trying to cause a scene and I wasn’t up for it, my friend who had given us space to talk had to come back And asked what the problem was, my lord, shouted at him to get out. At that point, I knew I was done.
The relationship was barely two weeks and I am already hyperventilating. I told him I was done, that I was so done. Dude started crying, I swear I have never seen anything like It, from roaring like a lion to suddenly crying and professing his love for me. And also saying that all this wouldn’t have happened if I had just responded to him properly when he called.
Only I had to leave with my friend immediately, when in my friend’s car, I deleted Mr lord’s number blocked him on all social media platforms, broke my sim card, and used my friend’s phone to call my brother, I explained to my brother what had just happened and he reassured me I was going to be fine, and me to call him if any other issue arises.
Honestly, I Was terrified, and visibly shaking. I thought Mr lord was going to hurt me or come look for me, but that didn’t happen, and for that I am forever grateful.

Singer, Tems credited as a songwriter on Beyonce’s upcoming album
Nigerian singing sensation, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has been credited as a songwriter on American singer, Beyonce’s forthcoming album.
On Wednesday, July 20, Queen Bee finally unveiled the tracklist for her album “Renaissance”, which is scheduled for release on June 29.
The album which is the singer’s seventh studio album has 16 tracks, including previously released club banger “Break My Soul” serving as the sixth track.
In the list of songwriters on the project, Nigeria’s own singer, Tems, was credited as one of the songwriters on the tenth track ‘Move’ under her full name, Temilade Openiyi.
The “Essence” crooner who has been doing exploits on the global stage has now worked with America’s finest singers, Beyonce and Future.
Beyonce, a 28th-time Grammy Award winner, while unveiling the album tracklist on her Instagram page wrote,

A mother of one has declared that she hates motherhood and would not recommend it to any woman as she shares her experience.
In a Facebook post, the young mum identified as Nicole Powell said if she knew then what she knows now, she would never have had a child, and surprisingly, many other mothers agreed with her.
According to her, before being a mother, women should try to understand and know themselves. She noted that if she had taken her time to truly understand herself, she would never have considered being a mother.
She vowed never to go that route again while reiterating that she loves her freedom.
She noted, however, that now that her toddler is here, she is doing everything possible to give her a wonderful life and raise her to be a well-rounded adult.
“If I would have known what I know now, motherhood would have NEVER been on the table for me. I despise motherhood. I hate my sleep has been interrupted for two years. I hate cooking in the evenings (I hate to cook). I hate finding snacks, and making bottles, and changing diarrhea diapers consistently for 15 hours straight (this was my Saturday).
Being a mother is not aligned with my souls purpose. And THAT is why, before we have children it is important to get to know self. If I would have taken the time to truly understand who I am, and the things that bring me joy, being a mother would have easily been taking off the table. It baffles me how women can sit up and have multiple kids by multiple men knowing damn well they hate that shit. Ain’t no baby cute enough, sweet enough, pure enough for me to do it again. I enjoy my freedom wayyyyyy to much.
Now, she’s here and I’m going to stick beside her. Because I’ve chosen to take on this task I have put my feelings of being a misaligned mother to the side to give her optimal life and the best wellbeing possible. My only goal at this point is to raise a high vibrational child into an adult so she can help assist to raise the collective conciousness of this world. I’ve also in-listed a bomb ass tribe that picks up where I leave off. I am grateful for her dad and the things that he is able to do as well.
I would not recommend motherhood I give it 1 star. And I definitely don’t recommend it to people that are in trauma bonds hoping that it will hold some shit together which I would guess happens to be 80% of our population. Close your legs, and go within before you decide to have a child or you will only continue to reproduce your traumas and low vibrational frequencies into this universe.” She wrote.

Man accused of killing his wife while they were on honeymoon in Fiji
A man from Tennessee, United States, Bradley Dawson, has been arrested in connection with the murder of his wife at a luxury Fijian resort.
The lifeless body of his 38-year-old wife, Christe Chen, was found at the Turtle Island Resort, a private getaway in the Yasawa Islands that hosts 14 couples at a time.
The couple got married in February and were on the Island for their honeymoon when the incident occurred on July 9. However, the cause of her death is still unclear.
Bradley became the prime suspect in his wife’s murder because he was nowhere to be found when the body of his deceased wife was found by Fiji’s police.
He was eventually caught and taken into custody by the police who claimed he was uncooperative and refused to carry out forensic tests.
Bradley has now been charged to court on one count of murder and appeared before Magistrate, Sekonaia Vodokisolomone, at a High Court in Fiji’s second largest island Lautoka on July 19.
Magistrate Vodokisolomone in giving her judgement, said the accused committed an ‘indictable offence’ and transferred the case.
It was gathered that the deceased was a Pharmacist at Krogers and her husband is an IT professional for Youth Villages, a non-profit that helps children.
Reacting to the incident, Bradley’s employer, Youth Village, sent their condolence to the deceased family and disclosed that they have suspended him till further notice.
“Bradley Dawson was an IT professional at Youth Villages. He has been suspended pending further information. It is our understanding Ms Chen was his wife, and our condolences go out to her family,” said Youth Villages in a statement.
Woman who had been posting about her divorce fears is killed by her estranged husband in murder-suicide
A 29-year-old woman, identified as Sania Khan, has been reportedly shot to death by her estranged husband, who then took his own life.
According to reports, Sania Khan, who had been open about their ongoing divorce and wanted to be a voice for women going through similar situations, was killed by her estranged husband inside her Streeterville condominium on Monday, July 18.
He reportedly travelled all the way from Georgia to Chicago to commit the murder-suicide.
The deceased devoted her TikTok page, with over 137k followers, to sharing her experience in her toxic marriage and documenting her divorce from her ex-husband, whom she described as “toxic”.
Her bio reads: “photographer, going through a divorce/healing.”
In one of her videos, she spoke about the stigma divorced women face in her culture and how her family members tried to force her to stay in the marriage.
In her words,
“My family members told me if i left my husband I would be letting shaytan win, that if I move back to my hometown they’ll kill themselves.”
Khan was shot and died inside her condo on July 18 at 211 E. Ohio St. at the Grand Ohio condominium complex. According to sources, her ex-husband flew from Georgia to Chicago, shot Khan and then committed suicide.
Friends of the deceased have taken to various social media platforms to express outrage that no one could protect her despite making it clear that her ex was toxic.
“My friend was someone who took all the right steps. She left. She had a restraining order. She changed her locks. It’s very tragic, because she did what she could in her control”, One of Khan’s friends wrote on Facebook.

Speaking in a recent interview with BBC, where she opened up on her journey as a transgender and how she had to accept and embrace her biological difference.
According to the musician, she started displaying effeminate qualities from birth and the nurses were confused about her gender even though she had a penis at the time

A Nigerian lady has sparked a debate on Twitter after she opined that it is wrong for women to date a man who still lives with his parents.
In a post on the micro-blogging platform, the young lady suggested that grown men who still live with their parents should not be in a relationship.
She asserted that the majority would concur with her that it is utterly inappropriate for a woman to have a love relationship with a man who still stays under the same roof as his parents.

Police launch manhunt for wife who set her husband ablaze for allegedly having a child outside wedlock following reports she’s still alive
The Osun State Police Command has launched a manhunt for the wife, Ifeoluwa Bamidele, who set her husband, Bolu, on fire for allegedly having a child outside wedlock.
It was earlier reported that the Cairo-based man came to Nigeria to spend time with his wife on her birthday but things went south after she discovered that he has a child with another woman.
She threatened to kill him and commit suicide before day breaks in a post she shared on her WhatsApp status.
The message reads,
“I’ve always been a calm girl and I have never done this in my life but Teebam (her husband) has pushed me to the edge. At this point, y’all will weep over myself and him before daybreak. I’m promising y’all that.”
A fight reportedly ensued between the couple and she demanded to check through his phone to confirm her suspicion but he refused.
She reportedly set him ablaze after locking the door and all efforts to save him by neighbours proved abortive, and it took hours for them to gain access into the house.
Ife fled the scene and it was believed that she took her own life after committing the dastardly act but family members said there’s no proof that she did so.
Men of the Osun State Police Command have now begun a search for the young lady and assured that she would be arrested and brought to book.
Confirming the incident, Spokesperson of the command, SP Yemisi Opalola, gave a detailed account of what transpired and said the incident took place at the couple’s residence in Koka community, Ibokun Local Government Area of the state on Sunday, July 17.
“At about 11:30pm, one Bolu, was allegedly set ablaze by his wife. The victim was rushed to the Osogbo Central Hospital where he was referred to the University College Hospital, Ibadan (UCH) for better treatment,” she stated.
“It is unfortunate that the man eventually died around 4.00 pm on Tuesday in the hospital,” SP Opalola added.

The young lady who is a choir member was leading worship session when the Christian brother went down on his kneels in the presence of all the congregants to propose to her.
Her eyes were closed while leading the soul-stirring worship and was oblivious to the fact that her man was kneeling down in front of her.
When she eventually opened her eyes, she saw her man on his knees holding out a ring box and became awash with emotions.
Without any hesitation, she accepted her man’s proposal and gave him a hug. The young man also gave her a gift bag.

American former professional boxer, Mike Tyson has said that he believes that he is getting closer to his death.
The 56-year-old former heavyweight champion, while speaking on his podcast, “Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson,” told trauma and addiction therapist Sean McFarland he feels his time is almost up.
“We’re all gonna die one day of course,” Tyson said. “Then, when I look in the mirror, I see those little spots on my face, I say, ‘Wow. That means my expiration date is coming close, really soon.” He said.

Man attacks his son with a machete over witchcraft allegation in Akwa Ibom
A young boy has been rescued by a Danish aid worker, Anja Ringgren Lovén, and her team after he was almost killed by his father over witchcraft allegation in Akwa Ibom.
Taking to her Facebook page on Wednesday, July 20, Lovén disclosed that the boy was almost hacked to death by his father who accused him of being a witch.
She said he had been living in the bushes for months to hide from his father and was living off the meals he received from an old woman.
However, when the director of her orphanage facility received a distress call about the boy’s condition, they immediately sprung into action and rescued him from the bushes.
The young boy who was left with a large scar on his head after the incident, is now safe and living in the facility called ‘Land of Hope’.

“A week ago, Land of Hope Director of Child Development Nsidibe Orok got an emergency call to rescue a child in a local community.”
“A little boy was accused of being a witch and the father had tried to kill him by cutting him on the head with a machete.
“When Orok came to the village he found the boy inside a bush. He was living in the bushes to hide from the father. He has been living in the bushes for many months and only survived because an old woman, who he was not even related to, gave him food sometimes.
“This is a case of severe child abuse and how ironic that the boy was wearing a t-shirt with LOVE printed on it considering his inhumane condition.
“Before the boy was abandoned his father use to torture him. His mother died when he was young and the step mother did not like him.
“Today Orok and I had a little session with the boy and we saw a little smile on his face for the first time. His name is Samuel and he is now safe at Land of Hope.
“He has only been here for a week and he is still traumatized but I can assure you that he has already felt the true meaning of the word LOVE”

A while ago, Naeto C’ wife has spoke for the first time about being shamed for her looks after she started dating the singer.
Taking to her Instagram page, the model shared a carousel post in which she talked about the criticisms she faced because netizens thought she didn’t look good enough for her husband.
According to her, she was repeatedly trolled on Twitter between 2010 to 2012 over her face and body. She said she was only 22 at the time and it really hurt to be faced with such public criticisms.

A Nigerian lady has sparked lovely responses on Twitter after she asked people in blissful marriages to share their stories.
According to @chiiogbu, people in good marriages should be more open with their beautiful stories because bad stories of marriages have taken the center stage on social media.
She said a lot of single folks, like herself, are no longer interested in getting married because of the terrible marriage stories they read online.
“I need people in genuinely happy marriages to normalize sharing advice and their cute stories because their colleagues in toxic marriages overshare thereby making it look very unappealing to us singles.

Her tweet quickly garnered traction on social media and some couples came out to share their lovely stories and how sweet their marriages have been.

Newborn baby rescued after being abandoned in front of a church in Rivers state
A newborn baby was rescused after the yet-to-be identified mother abandoned her in front of a church in Rivers state.
A good samaritan identified as Blessedcovenant Cyril Antai took to his social media page to disclosed that the baby was abandoned in front of his church on July 19, with a note which read “call her godgift and take care of her.”
Cyril revealed that he had to take the baby to the police station to make an entry. In his words;

In front of my church,
With a written Note that I should call her godgift and take care of her,
I had to take her to the police station and made an entry, by tomorrow we will be concluding on everything and the baby will become mine…
