A final year student of the University of Port Harcourt, Miss Ubiri Jennifer, has died in a ghastly road accident in Bayelsa state.

Jennifer was among three people burnt to death in the accident which occurred on Monday night, June 21, 2022, at Opokuma junction, along East-West Road.

The deceased, until her death, was the Vice President of the National Union of Urhobo Students Worldwide (NUUS).

The President (Ajuwe) of NUUS Worldwide, Ishokare Ishaku Emuejevoke Justice, confirmed Jennifer’s demise in a statement on Wednesday, June 22.

“It’s a black Wednesday for the National Union of Urhobo Students Worldwide. We just lost our viable Vice President 2 Jennifer Ubiri in a motor fire accident. It’s really hard to say Rest in peace”, he wrote.

Family, friends, and colleagues have trooped to Facebook to pen touching tributes to the late Jennifer.

A Facebook user Ovotu Rufus wrote,

“I lost a Daughter Miss Ubiri Jennifer, Vice President National Union of Urhobo Student World wide, She Had Accident on her ways back to PortHarcout After few hours , i helped her transfer her voters card from Rivers State to Delta State, After all your Efforts at Uniport we couldn’t Congratulate you with your Certificate.We Love You But God Love you most. Truckload of stolen items recovered from the body of a shoplifter in Ondo State

A video serving rounds online captures the moment a woman was busted after stealing items from a supermarket in Ondo state.

The woman who wore a big shirt and leggings, stole different items from the supermarket and hid them in her clothes, unknown to her that she was being captured on CCTV.

She was thereafter apprehended by employees of the supermarket and told to remove the stolen goods from her body.

In the video, the woman was commanded to submit the items and she’s seen removing them from her leggings. She stole a sachet of milk, bra, an extension, and other items.

However, the store owner insisted that there were still more stolen goods in her body and told one of his female staff to search the woman properly and she found more hidden goods.

Popular Nigerian clergyman, Pastor Enenche, has averred that one of the most challenging types of relationships is where the woman is ahead of the man.

The preacher who made this assertion during a sermon in his church noted that a relationship where the woman is more successful hurts the man’s ego.

According to him, men are wired such that they have an ego, and such men may begin to exact their authority and try to fill the difference and vacuum with harassment and oppression to show they’re the man.

He added that for a peaceful home and a successful marriage, men should marry women “that they are in front of”.

“One of the most challenging relationship types I have seen is where the woman is ahead of the man, whether academically, mentally, financially, position wise. Its very challenging because in every way, men are meant to be ahead. Men are wired such that they have an ego inside them, when you get married, he begins to exact his authority physically, he begins to look for how to fill the vacuum and the difference by harassments by oppression to show you he’s the man. His inadequacy and deficiency, he’s beginning to release it in other ways and make life unbearable for you”. He said.

Speaking further, the man of God stated that husbands that wait for their wives to pay house rent, children’s school fees, and buy foodstuffs should pull their trousers and wear skirts.

He opined that its an abomination for a woman to carry the burden of the home.

In his words,

“One of the worst things I have seen is when a man is waiting for his wife to pay house rent, waiting for a woman to pay children’s school fees, to buy food in the house. You are no longer a man then. Pull your trouser and wear skirt. Wear dress, wear gown. I cannot ask my wife where is your contribution to food money. I can’t.. Children school fees what are you bringing…Not now. Before pastoring.”

“We were converted to Islam and married off to Boko Haram fighters” – Rescued Chibok schoolgirls narrate their 8-year ordeal in Sambisa forest

Two of the schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram from their secondary school in Chibok, Borno State, in 2014 have been rescued by the Nigerian military.

The ladies, identified as Hauwa Dauda and Mary Joseph, were rescued with their children after they escaped from Boko Haram camp in Sambisa forest on June 12 and 14 respectively.

Speaking during a brief press conference in Maiduguri on Tuesday, June 21, the young ladies narrated their 8-year ordeal in the hands of their captors in Sambisa Forest.

They said they were married off to Boko Haram fighters and gave birth to children for them. They however disclosed that their husbands were killed by the Nigerian military some months ago which made life difficult for them.

They also revealed that over 20 Chibok school girls are still in Sambisa Forest, and went on to mention the names of some of them.

Mary, whose name was changed to Mariam by her captors, said she saw late Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, in the forest.

Hauwa, on the other hand, said she never set eyes on him and only watched him speak to his men on a laptop.

“I have never seen him face to face but I used to watch him on a laptop giving instruction to the fighters.” Hauwa said.

While responding to questions from journalists, Mariam said,

“Yes, there are still other Chibok girls in the Sambisa Forest. They also have been married, at least more than 20 are still there,” she said and began to mention their names one after the other.

“I was 18 years old when they abducted us and I converted to Islam, I was Christian but they converted us to Islam and married us off.

“We thank God that we are finally out, we have suffered after our husbands were killed, life was hell for us. We sincerely thank the military for rescuing us.”

Theater commander, Major General Christopher Musa, speaking at the press conference, said the girls have undergone proper medical check-ups and treatment and have been handed to the government who will then reunite them with their families.

He also assured Nigerians that the military troops will not rest until the remaining victims regain their freedom.

Boko Haram abducted 276 female students aged 16 to 18 from the Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State, in April 2014.

However, over 100 of the school girls are still missing till date.

A Nigerian man, identified simply as Victor, has narrated how his cousin abandoned him when he moved to Winnipeg, Canada.

Victor who said he chose a school in Winnipeg because his cousin lives there and was assured that he would help him settle down in the country, said he received a rude shock when he was left high and dry when he landed in Canada.

According to him, his cousin didn’t pick him up at the airport and he was left to figure things out on his own safe for the help of some strangers.

Nigerian disc jockey, DJ Obi, has spoken on the events that took place between superstar singer Burna Boy and a married lady at a club in Lagos.

It would be recalled that the self-styled African giant came under heavy fire from Nigerians on social media a few days ago, after a married lady, Briella, whose partner was shot during an altercation with Burna at the Cubana club in Lagos, shared a detailed account of what transpired.

Burna Boy is alleged to have made passes at the woman who was at the club with her husband on Wednesday, June 8.

The American-based lady, in her account, said she and her husband, in the company of some friends, were having a fantastic time at the club when Burna Boy asked someone from his team to invite her to join him.

According to her, a fight broke out after her husband accosted the singer for making advances on his wife, and Burna Boy allegedly gave the signal for the shooting.

Well, taking to social media, Nigerian Disc Jockey, DJ Obi has opined that the married lady was lying and pointed out loopholes in her account.

Speaking further, he noted that Burna Boy’s security team are highly trained and would have shot only if there was a threat to the singer’s life.

“The biggest lie of 2022 is when I heard that Burna Boy tried to talk to another man’s woman. That was where that whole story lost me. There is no woman born of a woman that has that privilege. And not even once but three times?! Fat lie”, he wrote in part.

A Ghanaian man has recounted how he discovered that his girlfriend was cheating on him with her ‘friend’.

In a video making rounds online, the man who works as a cabbie, said he barely makes enough money to survive because his cab is faulty and he spends most of his earnings on repairing it.

On one fateful day, his girlfriend paid him a visit and requested for 300 Ghana Cedis to buy tickets to singer, Stonebwoy’s concert. He however told her that he couldn’t afford the money because it was on short-notice.

A day later, his girlfriend called to inform him that her male friend has offered to give her a free ticket so they would be going for the concert together.

She also suggested that he drives them to the event so he could make extra stipends from the trip which he agreed to.

On the concert day, the cabbie got the shock of his life when he discovered that his girlfriend was two-timing him and her male friend.

According to him, while they were going to the concert, his girlfriend refused to sit at the front seat and went to sit at the backseat with her friend.

The guy also started kissing his woman and being all lovey-dovey with her in the backseat, while he watched through the mirror.

The guy’s friends who accompanied them to the concert, also made comments about her cooking skills and how she came to visit them during the week whereas she told him she went for a family function.

Popular Nigerian singer, Portable, has broken his silence on reports that his driver allegedly killed a commercial motorcyclist in an accident that occurred in Ogun state on Tuesday, June 21.

The singer, who has been in the news lately for the wrong reasons, again made headlines yesterday evening after reports emerged that his driver crushed a motorcyclist to death in Iyana Ilogbo, Ogun state.

The Ogun State Police command Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident in a chat with newsmen, said the driver was with the singer’s Range Rover jeep.

According to information obtained, the fatal incident occurred when the car’s driver was running errands for Portable.

However, reacting to the incident, Portable cleared the air that he wasn’t the one driving the car, as he was at his son’s home when the accident occurred.

He added that the victim was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately passed away. Speaking further, Portable disclosed that he paid a visit to the hospital to foot the bills before the victim died and promised to bless the family of the deceased.

“No be me use my motor kill person oh, I dey naming ooo, no be me carry motor jam person ooo, but I still go hospital, I still I bo card before the person pass out. He pain me sha person wey die, but we go bless the family, thank God o, every disappointment is a blessing”, he said in part.

A viral video has captured the moment an Ibadan-based thrift collector who reportedly fled with contributions to Lagos was nabbed.

According to viral reports, the young lady gathered contributions from her unsuspecting clients in Ibadan and allegedly used the money to relocate to Lagos to start a new life.

She’s also alleged to have used the contributions to organize an elaborate birthday bash for herself in Lekki, Lagos state.

Self-acclaimed relationship expert, Blessing Okoro has claimed to have undergone liposuction surgery to accentuate her body shape.

The mother of two took to her Instagram page to announce the update on Tuesday, June 21, as she bided her former body goodbye.

The Ogun State Police Command have confirmed that the driver of popular singer, Habeeb Okikiola better known as Portable, has crushed a motorcyclist to death in Ogun State.

The incident occurred barely 24 hours after the controversial singer was summoned for questioning by the Police for mobilizing his boys to deal with his former Disc Jockey, DJ Chicken.

It was gathered that Portable sent his driver on an errand with his Range Rover on Tuesday, June 21, when he hit the motorcyclist at Iyana Ilogbo along Lagos-Abeokuta expressway.

Sadly, the victim died while he was being rushed to the hospital for quick medical intervention.

The spokesperson of the state police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident, said it was an accident.

He said;

“The accident occurred at Ilogbo area in Ogun state where one of Portable’s aides hit a motorcyclist and the man did not survive as he died on his way to the hospital.

“We are not sure if the driver in question was drunk or not.”

Portable was celebrating the naming ceremony of his second son when the tragic accident occurred.

Congratulations are in order for fast-rising Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, as he ties the knot with his baby mama, Zainab Badmus.

It was a double celebration for the father of three on Tuesday, June 21, as he finally married his baby mama during their child’s naming ceremony.

Portable and Zainab welcomed their second child together last week, and the naming ceremony was held in Ogun state yesterday.

However, during the naming ceremony, the Zazu Zeh star also tied the knot with his longtime lover.

In other news, the Ogun State Police Command has instructed music artiste, Habeeb Okikiola A.K.A Portable to report himself to any of the stations in the state or face arrest after a video serving rounds online showed the singer telling some youths to beat up a young man and inflict bodily injury on him.

A statement which was released by the spokesperson of the state police command says the incident was said to have taken place somewhere within Ogun State about two days ago.

“Such unruly and violent behavior is not only barbaric, but unbecoming of somebody who supposed to be a role model for the youths and therefore should not be tolerated.

In view of this, the Command is using this medium to advise Okikiola Habeeb a.k.a Portable to report himself at the nearest police station in Ogun State, failure of which his arrest will be ordered.

The flagrant display of impunity by portable in the viral video is condemnable and if not checked, it will send a wrong signal to the youths who are looking up to him as a role model.” the statement read

Opeyemi revealed that jungle justice has no place in the law and whoever indulges in it must be made to feel the weight of the law, no matter the status of such person.

In the video that’s been shared online, Portable is seen ordering young men to assault the victim for reaching out to his wife to advise him to send all the boys around him away.

Law student set to face disciplinary action for drinking water from a bottle instead of a glass cup during Law dinner

A law student is set to face a disciplinary panel after being issued a query for drinking water from a bottle during law dinner.

The query letter which was sent by authorities of the Lagos campus of the Nigerian Law school, states that the student violated Rule 6 (29) of the Code of Conduct for Students of the Nigeria law school on dinner etiquette and manners.

In other news, a Twitter user has given his reason why he feels women who undergo cosmetic surgery to enhance their backside can never be faithful.

According to the gentleman, any lady who has gone through the entire arduous and painful process of cosmetic surgery isn’t going through all that just because of one man’s attention.

He says a lady who does cosmetic surgery is seeking all the attention she can get and it’s definitely not from one man.

Late Gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu to be buried in Abia this Saturday

Late gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu, will be laid to rest on Saturday, June 25, 2022, in Abia State.

According the information on her obituary poster, a night of worship will hold in Abuja on Thursday, June 23 while a Night of Prayer will hold in Isochi, Umunoci in Abia state the following day. The ‘Ekwueme’ singer will be interred in her father’s compound on Saturday, June 25.

The late gospel singer, popular for her “Ekweme” hit track, died on Friday, April 8th after she was allegedly in a coma for five days prior to her death. Close relatives, friends, and children of the deceased all alleged that her husband, Peter, subjected her to domestic violence.

Mr Peter Nwachukwu has denied the allegation and claims she died of lung cancer.

“Let me tell the whole world, I have suffered a lot. I have been abandoned. What killed my wife was cancer of the lungs; I didn’t hit my wife. Cancer of the lungs killed my wife, Osinachi Nwachukwu, so I’m suffering for what I do not know”. The-father-of-four said.

May her soul rest in peace, Amen.

Nigerian songstress-songwriter, Tiwa Savage has been subjected to lambasting from netizens after she donned a quite revealing outfit recently.

Tiwa comes under fire only days after she was dragged online due to the unbuttoned and braless outfit that gave a clear view of her cleavages, which she wore as well.

During her ‘Water and Garri’ concert recently, the singer is seen rocking a yellow suit left unbuttoned with a tiny brassiere while striking a pose with actress, Eniola Badmus.

Nigerians on social media had a lot to say about the attire worn by renowned singer Tiwa Savage to an event some days ago.

The stylish 40-year-old mother of one stepped out for an event in a white and gold 2-piece suit—the classy jacket was left unbuttoned, revealing her cleavage, which was not covered by a brassiere.

In the video that was shared online and stirred varying reactions from social media users, the self-styled “number one African bad girl” could be seen confidently making her way through a hallway, and at some point using her hand to cover her cleavage.

Yahoo Boy to wash toilet for eight months in Osun as punishment for Cybercrime

The Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Monday, June 20, 2022, secured five convictions before the Federal and State High Courts in Ibadan, Oyo State and Osogbo, Osun State respectively.

A press release signed by the Head of Media and Publicity of the Commission, Wilson Uwujaren, reveals that one Amusa Abdulhakeem Oluwasegunfunmi, a final year student of Transport Planning Management at Tai Solarin University, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, was sentenced to eight months community service for fraudulent impersonation.

The others are Amusa Abdulhakeem Oluwasegunfunmi, Ajisafe Sodiq Olaide, Lawal Samuel Morenikeji, Osuolale Abdullahi Abiodun, and Olamilekan Ridwan Taofeek. The statement said they were convicted on separate one-count charges each for offences relating to cyber-fraud. Upon their arraignments, they pleaded “guilty” to the charges preferred against them by the EFCC.

Given their pleas, the prosecution counsel urged the courts to convict and sentence them accordingly.

Consequently, Justice Ayo-Emmanuel of the Federal High Court, Osogbo, Osun State convicted and sentenced Oluwasegunfunmi, to eight months of community service for fraudulent impersonation, contrary to section 22 (2) (b) (1) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention etc.) Act, 2015. The sentence requires him to clean the toilets at Ataoja School of Science, Osogbo, Osun State.

Also, the court ordered that the convict’s attendance register be kept by the School Principal and submitted on completion of his term.

Similarly, Justice Iyabo Yerima of the Oyo State High Court, Ibadan, sentenced Ajisafe Sodiq Olaide to six months of community service for obtaining money by false pretence, contrary to Section 419 of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

In the same vein, Justice Omolara Adeyemi of the Oyo State High Court convicted and sentenced Lawal Samuel Morenikeji to six months of community service; Osuolale Abdullahi Abiodun and Olamilekan Ridwan Taofeek to one week of community service as their offences violate Section 484 of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The courts ordered that the convicts restitute their victims and forfeit all items recovered from them to the Federal Government.
