Controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, allegedly got into a fight during a recent performance in Ogun State.

According to a viral report, the singer performed at an event that reportedly ended in pandemonium that the Zazu Zeh star allegedly provoked.

An alleged witness who shared the video which showed the state of the event center in Ogun state after the alleged chaos captioned it, “Portable in Ogun State; watch what happened next. Na fight end am, everybody japa; weyrey done scatter show by himself.”

In the video, chairs were seen destroyed and scattered at the event center.

The singer is, however, yet to react to the allegation.

This comes barely only few days after Portable finally honoured police’s invite over alleged assault.

The Ogun State Police Command had on June 20 instructed the music artiste to report himself to any of the stations in the state or face arrest after a viral video showed him telling some youths to beat up a young man and inflict bodily injury on him.

Portable did as instructed, and reported at the command’s headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta on Wednesday, June 29.

The spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement on Thursday revealed Portable reported at Eleweran at about 5pm on Wednesday, June 29 with his father and manager.

According to the reality star, anyone who chooses to go under the knife to enhance their body is insecure.

The reality star who noted that everyone is insecure about something, added that going for surgery is no “guarantee of perfection or survival. ”

In my opinion, if it’s not due to a health condition and you wake up then choose to go for cosmetic surgery to add bum, touch your face or one of those mumu things, you are an insecure person.

I also admire your courageousness as that life risk takes a lot of it but what if you had gone the route of determination and discipline, I believe that body is achievable. My friends already know my take on this.

It’s your body, do with it whatever you please. When I see people like this, I do my best to boost their self confidence because if i don’t, it’s from one surgery to another and there is no guarantee of perfection or survival.

Going for surgery doesn’t make you a bad person, but i know you need help to build self love nd the people around you aren’t helping.

Reality TV star and businesswoman, Kim Kardashian’s eldest daughter, North West, 9, confronted the paparazzi who were taking pictures of her in Paris.

The 9-year-old currently is in Paris to support her mother’s runway debut at Paris Fashion Week — she visited the restaurant, Ferdi, with her friend Ryan Romulus, Kardashian’s cousin Cici Bussey, and Kim Kardashian.

Photographers were gathered outside to get photos of them as they ate dinner. As they leave the building following their dinner, North confronted the photographers.

“Why do you have to wait for us all the time?” she asked.

A voice is later heard saying: “We love you. Because you’re so famous. We love you, North.”

“Lagos drivers regard red lights as annoying suggestions” – American journalist shares his experience in Nigeria

Erik Gleibermann, an international journalist and cultural and literary critic, has averred that drivers in Lagos see red lights as annoying suggestions.

The social justice, who appears to be currently in Nigeria, stated this via his Twitter handle Thursday, July 7, while sharing his experience in the country’s commercial city.

He suggested that the majority of Lagos drivers violate traffic rules by running red lights.

“I am enjoying Lagos, though this feeling is tempered by the fact that drivers here regard red lights as annoying suggestions. #Lagos #Nigeria”, his tweet read.

Erik’s tweet, however, stirred quite a number of reactions from Nigerians on the micro-blogging platform.

In other news, two officials of the Porth Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHED) were attacked as they attempted to disconnect the power lines of defaulters in Rumuewhara area of Port Harcourt.

In a video that was shared online, one of the two PHED workers is noticed to be on top of a ladder disconnecting the power lines while another was at the foot of the ladder.

Suddenly, locals approached the official at the foot of the ladder and attacked him before throwing him to the ground and landing heavy blows on him.

While the official already on ground is being fought with, a woman walks up to the ladder and pulls it, causing the PHED official on top of the ladder to fall several feet to the ground.

Isreal DMW proposed to his girlfriend in April 2022 and formally met the family of his fiancée in June. The ceremony was held in Benin, the Edo State capital.

In preparation for their wedding, the groom-to-be called celebrity designer, Yomi Casual, for his wedding suit.

However, Israel was astounded to learn that a single outfit would cost him N500,000. The celebrity designer had told him that the wedding suit would cost N500,000.

In the photos, the man’s complexion was drastically darker when he was in Nigeria when compared with how his ‘skin popped’ in Dublin, Ireland. One may even wrongly judge that they were two different humans in the photos.

Veteran Nigerian rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem, has spoken for the first time since the news broke about his ailing health.

The veteran singer’s management revealed in a statement on Wednesday, July 6, that he was recently diagnosed with kidney failure and has been undergoing dialysis in a Lagos hospital.

His management appealed to Nigerians to pray fervently and send in their well wishes to the singer.

However, giving an update on his health in a video he shared on his Instagram page on Thursday, July 7, Eedris assured his fans that he’s fine.

He shared a video of himself from his hospital bed undergoing dialysis and thanked his fans for their prayers, love and support so far.

“Hello everybody my name is Eedris Abdulkareem. I want to thank you all for your prayers and support and I want you all to know that I am going to come out of it successfully. Thank you for your love and support I really appreciate you all, love you so much. Today I am in my dialysis session and it takes 3 to 4 hours, after the dialysis, I go out to do my daily activities but I am strong in body, spirit and soul. Thank you, I want you to know that your prayers are accepted”. He said.

Anambra Governor, Charles Soludo reveals why Pastor Odumeje’s church was demolished

Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo has spoken on the demolition of the Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, owned by controversial clergyman, Prophet Odumeje.

It was earlier reported that Odumeje’s church located in Bida Road, Fegge, Onitsha, Anambra State, was demolished by Operatives of the Anambra State Government (ANSG) task force on Thursday, July 7, and a video capturing the moment the building was taken down was shared online.

Governor Soludo has now confirmed the demolition in a statement signed on his behalf by his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime.

It was stated that the church and other buildings were demolished because they were built on Fegge waterways.

The building owners were said to have been directed to remove the illegal structures since April 2022, but failed to comply hence the demotion.

The press release with the title: Anambra State Government begins demolition of illegal structures in Fegge, reads;

“Following the expiration of the more than two weeks notice beginning from April 2022 served on developers and building owners who built several illegal structures along the waterway in Fegge and environs within Onitsha, Anambra state government has begun demolition of such structures.

The exercise which is being carried out by a joint government task force, commenced the exercise from Bida Road by Modebe Avenue, Fegge Onitsha.

The affected buildings include Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention Deliverance Ministries, shops and other perimeter fences

The structures were marked since April, 2022 and all developers and building owners were served notice to remove such illegal structures.”

Popular Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has heavily criticized the death sentence passed on some gay men in Bauchi state.

A Sharia court sentenced three men, including a 70-year-old man, to death by stoning for engaging in homosexuality under section 134 of the 2001 Bauchi State Penal Law, which states: “Whoever commits the offence of sodomy shall be punished with death by stoning [rajim] or any other means decided by the state.”

Yul in a post shared on his Instagram page said it’s completely wrong to stone a man to death because of his sexual orientation.

According to the 40-year-old actor, gay people also have rights which should not be trampled upon by the society and judgement should be left to God.

He added that it’s better for them to be convicted over a crime, not homosexuality.

Yul wrote,

“Stoning a man to death bcos he’s gay is wrong. Totally wrong.
I’m not gay, I don’t plan to be but gay people are human beings too and should have rights.
I heard the judgement was passed in Bauchi.
How can you kill a human being bcos he’s gay?
It’s wrong.
Condemn him if he engages in criminal activities. Condemn him if he’s a rapist.

UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson has resigned on Thursday, July 7, after less than three years in Number 10.

This follows a series of political crisis in the country that has crippled Britain’s government.

He announced his resignation in a speech at Downing Street where he said “no one in politics is remotely indispensable”.

“I feel sad to be giving up the best job in the world. I fought so hard in the last few days to continue because I felt it was my job, my duty and my obligation to continue as PM.”

He said it’s painful not to see it through and he tried to persuade his cabinet that it would be weird to change prime minister now but his appeals were not granted.

He added that the new Prime Minister will be announced next week.

Boris Johnson has been enmeshed in a number of scandals that has even forced some of his staunch supporters to abandon him.

Most recently, he was criticized for the way he handled the resignation of his former deputy chief whip, Chris Pincher, who was accused of sexually harassing two men last week.

This led to the resignation of over 50 lawmakers who were furious by his action.

Boris has now acknowledged that he was in the wrong and has stepped down as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

Operatives of the Anambra State Government (ANSG) task force have demolished the Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, owned by controversial clergyman, Prophet Odumeje.

It was gathered that the church located in Bida Road, Fegge, Onitsha, Anambra State, had been marked by the state government for demolition since April 2022.

It’s said that the church was marked for demolition among over 200 other houses for obstruction and blocking the drainage way within the Fegge-Onitsha, Ogbaru and their environs.

Bulldozers were seen demolishing the building with the supervision of some ANSG task force officials in videos that surfaced online. The videos also showed the officials assaulting the man of God, hitting and slapping him at intervals as they prevented him from accessing his church building.

This comes after Odumeje bought his wife a brand new car.

Odumeje who goes around with the moniker “The Lion himself” took to his social media page to share a video of the new car he bought his wife.

In the video he shared, his wife was seen gushing over her new car. Odumeje captioned the video; “New BMW to my wife”.

In other news, Maryam Adamu, a 20-year-old student at Gombe State University (GSU), has stated that the Academic Staff Union of Universities’ (ASUU) prolonged strike has compelled her to start looking for a husband.

The young lady, in an interview with the Daily Sun, bemoaned the strike action by the union and noted that the strike has messed up her plans of graduating before turning 20.

Mariam, who is in her second year at the university, said her desire to finish her education before getting married has been completely crushed by the ongoing strike, and all she desires right now is to get married and start a family.

UK court declares Ekweremadu’s ‘kidney donor’ is not a minor, adjourns case till August 4th

The Westminister Magistrate court in the United Kingdom has ruled that David Ukpo who was to donate his kidney to the ailing daughter of the former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice, is not a minor.

This comes after the Nigerian politician and his wife were arrested on charges bordering on human trafficking and organ harvesting.

David Ukpo who was taken to the United Kingdom by the Ekweremadu’s to donate his kidney to their daughter who is down with kidney failure at the Royal Fee Hospital, had told doctors prior to the surgery that he was 15, not 21.

The couple were arraigned before the Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, July 4, and they both pleaded not guilty to the organ harvesting charge.

Counsel to the Ekweremadu’s argued that the victim lied about his age as his details with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) and the two bank accounts he operates in Nigeria shows he is 21 years old. However, the prosecution insisted that David is a minor.

Following the hearing, the court ruled that David is not a minor and the case was adjourned till August 4th.

The UK attorney-general also approved that the case be tried at Central Criminal Court in London. However, the Ekweremadus are to remain in custody till the next hearing.

Crocodile spotted being sold at a market in Nigeria (video)

A video of a crocodile being sold at a market in Nigeria has surfaced online.

The animal was captured on camera by a Twitter user at a market where it was being sold. It was set out on a table with some fish.

The video apparently caught the attention of netizens because, while you can stroll into any market to buy fish, crabs, and other common sources of protein, it’s extremely uncommon to see a crocodile being offered for sale in a typical market in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, a while ago, a man was spotted hawking a huge crocodile in traffic at G.R.A Phase 2 area of Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital.

Facebook user, Kingsley Ogar, who is a Sports Analyst with 91.7 Wave FM, Port Harcourt posted the photos on Tuesday afternoon.

In other news, diners at a popular restaurant in Lagos state were left disappointed after spotting a live centipede crawling inside the bowl of Isi ewu (goat head) they ordered.

The diners were at the restaurant to treat themselves to a bowl of sumptuous Isi Ewu, but unfortunately, they could not get themselves to eat the meal after spotting the live creature.

The disappointed customers recorded the centipede and shared the video online to warn other customers.

The incident reportedly happened in a restaurant in Ago, Okota area of Lagos state.

In a rather interesting turn of events, two young Nigerian women are fighting over who will marry veteran Nollywood actor, Kenneth Aguba.

This comes after the actor was picked up from the streets by the founder of Omega Power Ministry, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, after news made rounds that he was homeless.

The clergyman gifted him a fully furnished apartment in one of his free estates in Port Harcourt and pledged to clean him up nicely.

Apostle Chibuzor also promised to find him a wife and sponsor their wedding ceremony.

He however gave some conditions that must be met by any interested lady, including which he said the lady must agree to stay with the actor for ten years without divorce or separation.

Shortly after the announcement, a 24-year-old lady from Anambra state identified as Annastasia Micheal Olamma, offered to marry the actor and take good care of him. Read here

Interestingly, another lady named Ella Ada, has taken to Facebook to announce that she’s also ready to get married to the actor.

One of the frontliners of the EndSARS protest, Moe Odele has fired back at a controversial journalist, identified as David Hundeyin, after he claimed that her lifestyle is being funded by a man.

David had taken to Twitter on Thursday morning, July 7, to call out Moe – who travels the world and shares pictures from her trips on social media – accusing her of being bankrolled by a man.

He tweeted,

Ghana’s first transgender musician, Angel Maxine has spoken on the alleged “prejudice and ostracization” she faces in her country.

Speaking in a recent interview with BBC, where she opened up on her journey as a transgender and how she had to accept and embrace her biological difference.

According to the musician, she started displaying effeminate qualities from birth and the nurses were confused about her gender even though she had a penis at the time.

Maxine said;

“Even right at the hospital, they couldn’t tell my gender. They will be like, is this a male or this is female? They have to unwrap me and take me all around for them to see that oh, this one has a penis oo!

“I always felt like I was living somebody else’s life. Kojo Besia… Obaaberima… It got to some point I owned it. So when you call me Kojo Besia, Obaa Berima, I’m like, ‘hello, hi’. I just owned it. I am popularly known as Angel Maxine, and I’m Ghana’s first openly transgender musician.”

She further stated that the LGBTQ movement is not an imported idea as she was effeminate from birth.

“Angel didn’t go and pick anybody’s lifestyle or anybody’s culture. I was effeminate from birth. Even though I had backlashes from family and other people, I was like, I was really tired, and this is me. So I started doing my music openly, wearing my short pants, my Santiago boots and all that.

“And that was where I really saw myself like, Hey, this is me. This is the beautiful picture I’ve always been seeing, and this is what I want to show outside,” Maxine added.

The woman behind the trending TikTok sound “bunch of women” has been identified as Blessing, and she has narrated her unpleasant marital experience in a recent tell-all interview.

A few months ago, a video of a young woman telling the court how she found her husband having intercourse with eight women on their matrimonial bed went viral. In no time, the audio began trending online, with Nigerian TikTokers using the sound to create amusing content.

The mother of two, who is now living with her mother in Ajegunle, Lagos State after her husband tried to attack her with a machete, recounted her experience in an interview with vlogger Lucky Udu.

According to her, she decided to leave the toxic marriage and put up with her mother after the attempt on her life by her husband.

She continued by explaining how she had witnessed her husband groping eight different women simultaneously in their marital bed and how he had retaliated against her for interfering with his fun by violently kicking and punching her.

“Everybody now call me bunch of women if you really know the true story behind the video you will know that its not funny. You will have pity on me…There were really bunch of women in my room, eight of them and my husband was just busy, changing them like wrapper, when I spoke my husband slapped me, that what right do I have to interfere in his fun”, she said in part.

Diners at a popular restaurant in Lagos state were left disappointed after spotting a live centipede crawling inside the bowl of Isi ewu (goat head) they ordered.

The diners were at the restaurant to treat themselves to a bowl of sumptuous Isi Ewu, but unfortunately, they could not get themselves to eat the meal after spotting the live creature.

The disappointed customers recorded the centipede and shared the video online to warn other customers.

The incident reportedly happened in a restaurant in Ago, Okota area of Lagos state.

According to @officialtomi1, her brother who is currently in Junior Secondary School 2 sent the list ahead of visiting day in his school.

Visiting day is a much anticipated day for boarding students as their parents are allowed to pay them a visit and bring food, provisions, school materials and other treats.

In anticipation of the special day, Tomi’s brother sent an insanely long list of things he wants his parents to bring along when coming to visit him and it contained ridiculous items.

The young lad requested for shawarma, pizza, pastries, fried rice, chocolate, soft drinks and so many junk food alongside other basic needs.

Families sue TikTok over deaths of two young girls trying the viral ‘blackout challenge’

The families of two young girls who allegedly died as a result of trying out a viral social media challenge are suing TikTok.

The two girls, aged eight and nine years old, died taking part in a ‘blackout challenge’ that went viral on TikTok last year and claimed a number of children’s lives.

The ‘blackout challenge’ urges users to try to hold their breath until they pass out, according to the lawsuit filed on Tuesday, July 5 in Los Angeles.

The families are seeking an unspecified amount in damages and have requested a jury trial to take place in California.

According to the bereaved families, the app’s “dangerous” algorithms are to blame for their children’s deaths—they claim the platform’s “dangerous algorithm intentionally and repeatedly” pushed videos of the challenge into the children’s feeds, incentivizing them to participate in the challenge that ultimately took their lives.

“TikTok needs to be held accountable for pushing deadly content to these two young girls,’ said Matthew P Bergman, founding attorney of Social Media Victims Law Center (SMVLC), a legal resource for parents of children harmed by social media addiction and abuse.

Eight-year-old Lalani Erika Renee Walton from Texas died on July 15, 2021 in what police determined was “a direct result of attempting TikTok’s “blackout challenge,” according to the complaint.

The little girl had received a phone for her eighth birthday in April 2021 and ‘quickly became addicted to watching TikTok videos’, the complaint said. She often posted videos of herself singing and dancing in hopes of becoming “TikTok famous.”

“She was also under the belief that if she posted a video of herself doing the Blackout Challenge, then she would become famous and so she decided to give it a try,. Lalani was eight years old at the time and did not appreciate or understand the dangerous nature of what TikTok was encouraging her to do.” the complaint said.

This is not the first lawsuit against the company prompted by the “blackout challenge.” In May, the mother of a 10-year-old girl who choked herself to death after participating in the dangerous challenge filed a wrongful death lawsuit against TikTok and its parent company, ByteDance.

“ASUU strike has forced me into an urgent search for a husband” – Gombe varsity student laments

Maryam Adamu, a 20-year-old student at Gombe State University (GSU), has stated that the Academic Staff Union of Universities’ (ASUU) prolonged strike has compelled her to start looking for a husband.

The young lady, in an interview with the Daily Sun, bemoaned the strike action by the union and noted that the strike has messed up her plans of graduating before turning 20.

Mariam, who is in her second year at the university, said her desire to finish her education before getting married has been completely crushed by the ongoing strike, and all she desires right now is to get married and start a family.

In her words,

“I cannot take it anymore. Our continued stay at home following the shutting down of academic activities since February is not going down well with us. Many of us have lost the spirit. As I speak now, if I am asked to choose between going back to school and marriage, I would put marriage first,” said the student, who disclosed that she had been carried away by studies and never thought of marrying before graduation.

“This strike has forced me into an urgent search for a husband because that is what I could think of while staying at home with no assignments and studies to keep me busy. Most of my friends who had married earlier when marriage was a no-go area for me are today nursing their one or two children and I am in a way jealous.

“ASUU and government can continue with their games, all I care about and I am worrying about now is to get married so that I will not fall into things I will end up regretting because I don’t even know what I will be going back to do if schools are to be reopened today. They have killed the interest in me and so many of school friends. My parents have now picked interest in giving me out in marriage.”
