The comedian specifically questioned how some Nollywood Actresses are able to fund extravagant lifestyles and asked them to stop deceiving naive girls on social media.

Men of the Lagos Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have recovered a 2014 Nissan Altima car abandoned by a drunk driver at Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos, over the weekend.
The driver, identified as Samuel Lawal, was said to have dropped his boss off at his residence in Magodo Phase 1 on Saturday night and snuck out of the compound with the car to party around Fela Shrine, Ikeja.
However, he got extremely drunk at the party and didn’t return home with the car. When he woke up on Sunday morning, he saw the car key in his pocket but didn’t know where he parked the vehicle.
After trying all possible means to find the car, he had to lie to his boss that the car had been stolen.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin wrote on Twitter,
“Officials of Lagos Rapid Response Squad (RRS) on Monday, August 1, 2022 recovered a 2014 Nissan Altima abandoned by a drunk driver at Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos two days before.
The driver abandoned his bossβ vehicle at Allen Avenue after getting drunk on Saturday night. Preliminary investigations reveal that the driver, after dropping off his boss at his residence in Magodo, rather than park the vehicle sneaked out with it to party around Ikeja.
The driver woke up on Sunday morning with the car key in his pocket but could not remember where he had parked the vehicle. The driver said to the Police, βAfter all means to locate the vehicle proved futile
I had no alternative but to lie to my boss that I was robbed and that the vehicle had been driven away.”

The pair dated for two years before deciding to get married, but the bride was unaware that her groom has no legs.
Jado, who lost his legs in a bomb blast when he was a child, claimed he kept his condition from his wife out of fear she would reject him.
In a chat with Afrimax TV, Jadi said he kept his disability from his wife because of previous experiences with ladies who dumped him owing to his disability.
The bride, Bora, on her part, saidΒ she was shocked when she learned her husband has no legs because he always walked on artificial legs and she thought his inability to walk properly was due to a fracture.

A Nigerian politician, Mark Okoye has taken to social media to praise his wife, Phillipa, as he shares their family dynamics.
The 36-year-old man who was a former Commissioner for Economic Planning, Budget and Development Partners under the administration of former Anambra Governor Willie Obiano, revealed that his wife is out of the country on official duties.

Veteran Nollywood actor,Nkem Owoh also known as Osuofia, has broken his silence on viral claim that he rejected N10 million to support the presidential flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the 2023 general elections.
News spread like wild fire over the weekend that the thespian allegedly rejected the offer and said N10 million cannot buy his endorsement because 2023 is very critical for the collective good of all Nigerians.
It was alleged that Osuofia was initially offered the “usual N5 million” to endorse the presidential aspirant but he turned it down. They then doubled the offer but he still rejected it.
Shortly after the alleged report surfaced online, several Nollywood stars including Zack Orji, Benedict Johnson and others came out to endorse Tinubu as their choice candidate.
Well, Sahara Reporters reached out to Nkem Owoh to confirm or deny the claims he rejected N10 million but the actor refused to comment on the issue.

Internet celebrity, Ismaila Mustapha, popularly known as Mompha, has reacted after he was declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Recall that the anti-graft agency, in a statement on Wednesday, August 3, declared the billionaire businessman wanted for alleged money laundering and called on members of the public with useful information on his whereabouts to contact the nearest police station.
The EFCC claimed that Mompha failed to appear in court for his money laundering trial.
Reacting, in a post titled “MOMPHA WANTED BY THE EFCC ‘-THE TRUE STORY”, Mompha explained that after his arrest and arraignment on the first case at the federal high court in Lagos, in 2021, the court ordered the EFCC to release his wrist watches and other valuables in their custody. However, the EFCC, in dissatisfaction with the judgment of the court on the release of his wristwatches, came up with another trumped up charges against him.
Mompha accused the EFCC of being corrupt. He added that the agency is a “charade” and he has come to the conclusion that he can’t get justice “within this corrupt-laden system”.
He insisted he had not committed any crime and hadΒ only paid money to his co-defendant, Nappy in the normal course of his Bureau de Change business.

“MOMPHA WANTED BY THE EFCCβ – THE TRUTH STORY
After my arrest and arraignment on the first case at the federal high court Lagos, on the 10th of December 2021, the court gave me judgment and ordered EFCC to release my wrist watches and other valuables in their custody to me for been unlawfully seized. Being a bitter agency, the EFCC in dissatisfaction with the judgment of the court on the release of my wristwatches came up with another trumped up charges against me. On the 10th of January 2022 while I was at there office at Okotie Eboh to retrieve my wristwatches in compliance with the judgment of the court and immediately after collecting my wristwatches, they held me down at their office and charged me to court the following day on the frivolous charges. I was arraigned before a familiar Judge to the EFCC and in effect I was given a very difficult bail to meet as a result of which I ended up spending over two months in prison custody while making efforts to meet the difficult bail. After several attempts to meet the bail conditions failed, I successfully applied for the bail conditions to be reduced which eventually led to my release.
Upon my release I traveled outside Nigeria to check on the welfare and wellbeing of my family and returned to Nigeria shortly only for the EFCC Corrupt lawyer, Rotimi Oyedepo rather than focus on the establishing his criminal case against me along with the EFCC operative Kaina Garba, chose to capitalize on the fact that I travelled to blackmail me into entering plea bargain with EFCC else he would inform the Judge I travelled and ensure my bail is revoked therefore making me have no choice than to dance to his tune. I initially refused but after so much blackmail and intimidation by Rotimi Oyedepo, I succumbed and was told to pay N142 million naira to EFCC as compensation and also sign for a one year imprisonment sentence which I was uncomfortable with and they thereafter reduced it to N40 million naira and one year imprisonment.
When it became obvious to EFCC that I wasnβt going to sign the plea bargain and play to their game, they informed the Judge I travelled and the Judge without any concrete evidence and disregard.”

A businesswoman identified as Asiata Oladejo told a Mapo Grade A Customary Court, in Ibadan, Oyo state to dissolve her marriage on the grounds that her estranged husband, Abidemi, was unreliable and abandoned her and their children during a robbery attack.
Oladejo submitted her counter argument in the divorce suit filed by her husband.
βMy Lord, I am yet to recover from the shock I experienced when a gang of thieves raided our house. He hid in the toilet, leaving me to pant in front of the armed robbers, who terrorized the entire residents of the house.
My lord, when the thieves arrived at around 1am. on that night, my husband was nowhere to be found to defend the children and I.
Unknown to me, he hid in the toilet. He only came out when they had gone. My husband wanted us to continue living in that house,β she said.
Abidemi in his defense said that his wife was ill-tempered.
βShe comes to my shop unannounced to torment me. It is true that I hid in the toilet when armed robbers attacked our house. All the attempts made to bring her back home failed, because she said she was unnecessarily scared,β he said
He prayed the court to grant him custody of the three children because he had been a responsible father.
Delivering judgment, the President of the Court, Mrs S. M. Akintayo, granted the order restraining Oladejo from threatening, harassing and interfering in the private life of Abidemi.
Akintayo granted custody of the three children to Oladejo, adding that she was in the best position to cater for them.
βBoth petitioner and respondent shall be responsible for the education and other welfare of the children. In addition, Abidemi shall pay a monthly feeding allowance of N20,000 for the childrenβs upkeep. Both of you must maintain peace and order,β Akintayo held.
She, however, noted that there was no marriage to dissolve between the couple, because their union could not be considered as a marriage. She stated that their marriage was not in accordance with laid down customary laws of Nigeria.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has declared popular Instagram celebrity and socialite, Ismaila Mustapha, better known as Mompha, wanted.
The anti-graft agency, in a statement on Wednesday, August 3, called on members of the public with useful information on his whereabouts to speak up.
βIsmaila, 38, hails from Ogbomosho Local Govt Area of Oyo State. His last known address: 2 Fagbenro Street, Idi-Araba, Surulere, Lagos State. Wanted by the EFCC: Ismaila Mustapha. Anyone with useful information about his whereabouts should contact the EFCC or the nearest police station”, the statement read in part.
The EFCC arraigned the billionaire businessman before Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court, sitting in Ikeja, Lagos in January 2022.
Mompha was arrested by Operatives of the EFCC, Lagos state command, on Monday, January 10, for allegedly laundering funds obtained through unlawful activities and retention of alleged proceeds of crime, and arraigned in court on Thursday morning, January 12.
According to EFCC, Mompha is currently standing trial alongside his company, Ismalob Global Investment Limited, on an amended 22-count charge bordering on cyber fraud and money laundering to the tune of N32.9 billion.
Meanwhile, in August 2020 Mompha sued EFCC for N5million over his arrest.
He asked the Federal High Court in Lagos to compel the anti-graft agency to pay him N5m for what he termed his βunlawful re-arrest and detention.β

Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Agbogidi who were recently kidnapped have been released by their abductors
According to a statement released by the Actors Guild of Nigeria on its official Instagram page on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, the movie stars were released unhurt and in healthy conditions.
The statement reads;
“This is to gladly inform the public that the kidnapped actors Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel Agbogidi have been released unhurt. The elated National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Ejezie Emeka Rollas announced their release by the abductors who were touched by the spirit of God to set them free and unharmed.
The Guild has arranged for medical checks and psychological support for the victims. On behalf of their families, the National President expressed our heartfelt appreciation to Nollywood industry and Nigerians at large for the support and prayers during the trying period.”
“He urged members to be security conscious on and off film sets and always take precautionary measures on their personal security at all times.
βWhile talking to the abductors, we were trying to explain to them that we were putting some funds together, we were contributing. We said that we have about N1.2 million. And they started laughing at us.

A father of quintuplets caused a stir online after sharing a video of himself using a leash to take his five-year-old quintuplets for a walk.
Jordan Driskell, 31, from Kentucky, took to his Instagram page to share a video of him using a leash while walking with his five young kids – Zoey, Dakota, Hollyn, Asher and Gavin – who he shares with his wife, Briana, 34.

A Ghanaian clergywoman has been captured on video praying for divine intervention as a government task force demolishes her church for reportedly operating without a permit.
The woman in the viral video has been identified as the pastor of Apostolic Movers and Shakers Chapel.
The church building was demolished by a combined team of police and Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) task force on Monday, August 1, 2022, after it had been marked for demolition following an earlier warning by AMA to the church that they should vacate the premises.
In the viral video, the woman is heard fervently pleading with God to intervene, saying that anyone involved in the demolition will pay with their lives.
She further stated that if God did nothing about the situation, then she wouldnβt serve him ever again.

Nigerian Journalist, Sam Omatseye has claimed that supporters of Labour Party presidential flagbearer, Peter Obi, are threatening his life.
He took to Twitter to make this allegation hours after he published an article about the presidential candidate on The Nation newspaper titled “Obi-tuary”.
The title didn’t sit well with some supporters of the presidential aspirant and they lampooned him over the article.
Some even went as far as sharing an obituary announcing his death and posted it on social media.
A Twitter user with handle @akanyvic wrote,
“If anything happens to Mr. Peter Obi, this bigot has explanations to give because he knows so much. How else do you explain that a man tags Mr. Peter Obi’s picture on the front page of a news paper with the word ‘Obi-tuary’? The attention of NPF and DSS should be drawn to this.”
Another Twitter user @Ogbenidipo wrote,
“Sam Omatseyeβs use of Obi-tuary in an article is counter-productive. You are allowed to criticise political candidates but this is extreme. Obituaries, Obi-tuary and other derogatory labels should not be part of anyoneβs campaign strategy. You can win with clean messaging.”

Following the backlash, Omatseye went on Twitter to allege that he has been receiving death threats from supporters of Peter Obi.
He also stated that the presidential candidate should be held responsible if anything happens to him.
He tweeted,
“Mr. Peter Obi, call your supporters to order. They are calling and issuing death threats. If anything happens to me, you will be held responsible!!!!”
A young man has taken to Twitter to lament bitterly after his girlfriend sent him a comprehensive list of things she wants for her birthday.

Then she sent the birthday wishlist which comprised of majorly food and drinks, and a small amount to get her hair and nails done. She also included a special treat for her parents and it all amounted to N60,000.
Upon seeing the list, the man was shocked and complained about not being buoyant enough to afford the said amount.
