Nigerian pastor, Shola Adeoye has given a piece of advice to women dating a man approaching 50 and has never been married.
Speaking in a video shared on his Instagram page, the clergyman said dating a man who is 48 or 50 years old and has never been married before is a big red flag in itself.
However, if a woman decides to get married to such a man, they should both get proper counselling before the wedding to prevent issues in marriage.

According to him, it’s very important of them to be counseled because a man who has been single for that long would find it difficult to be fully committed in marriage.

A young Nigerian man, Joseph Fekala, who was arrested for killing a lady, Kate Oguoh, and burying her corpse in his room in Bayelsa state has narrated how he carried out the dastardly act.
Last week, Yabaleftonline reported that Joseph, said to be a suspected Yahoo boy, killed the 26-year-old lady in his apartment at the Okaka area of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. ICYMI
The suspect was paraded before newsmen recently and he explained how and why he murdered the young lady.
According to him, Kate sought refuge in his two bedroom flat in February and had been staying with him since then, until he got a job in Port Harcourt and had to relocate but left her in his house.

In July, she transferred N50,000 to his bank account to help her trade in Forex with the intention of getting N20,000 interest monthly which he said wasn’t possible.
When he visited Bayelsa last week, he got into an argument with Kate over the money as he had squandered it and in the process choked her to death because he didn’t want her to raise alarm.
According to him, he is not a yahoo boy and he didn’t intend to use her for money ritual.
His words,
“We got into an argument over the N50,000 she sent to me for the suppose of forex trade she wanted to do. I tried to explain that I spent the money and will repay her but she angrily responded and pushed me. So I pushed her back and she fell on the bed, and since I knew she was going to raise alarm and our neighbours will hear her voice so I held her throat and closed her mouth, and choked her to death.”
Continuing, he said
“On the first of July I came to Bayelsa State to do some maintenance in the house because Kate met me in February that she needed a place to stay, based on the fact that the person she wanted to go stay with in Lagos didn’t work out, so she needed where to stay for four months.
So I gave her one of the rooms, and I was staying in the parlour, in a two-bedroom flat. I just got a job so I have to leave for Port Harcourt. I use to visit home to do some maintenance occasionally. So on the first of July when I came we met and as we were discussing, so she told me she wanted to trade forex since she knew some years back I used to trade for myself.
So I explained to her that the best I can do is teach her how to trade, and not trade for her because of the inconveniences in it. Later she left for her family house in Opolo and called me to send her my details, and she immediately sent me N50,000.
When I asked her the following day, she said she wanted me to trade for her, so I reminded her that I don’t want to be involved so she insisted, so I accepted.
So I asked her what she want from this thing and she said at least N20,000 every month, so I told her no institution or bank will offer that.
So I asked her to send her details so I can refund the cash, so later she started sending my colleagues at the office messages that I’m a scammer and criminal.
I tried chatting her up but she won’t want to listen, so I told her I will come to Bayelsa State since we can’t settle the issue on phone. So I came to Bayelsa this past Monday, I got home late at around 9 pm, and I met her inside and tried talking to her but she responded angrily back at me, I tried to calm her but she won’t agree.
I lay down to rest and she was still raising her voice at me for over 20 minutes so I slept off that day. The following day I decided to stay back for a few more days because I didn’t want to let it get to the hearing on my colleagues at work, and the chances of her doing that were high.
I came back on Thursday, and when she saw me, she was still angry. Then I pleaded with her that she should be patient with me, that I will raise the cash and refund her with interest when I get my paycheck, so she said even if she agrees it will be N20,000 interest. I declined that it was not up to one month and it won’t be possible, except at the end of August but she didn’t agree and she kept on talking and pushing me that she was going to deal with me through her aunty who is a police officer.
After I noticed she has given up, I went out to clear my head, as I was walking a thought came to me that I should just bury the body so everything will just pass. I borrowed a shovel around, I looked for the portion of the house that wasn’t too hard, so I dug it and left her inside the pit.
The fear of getting into trouble made me not report to the police. I’m not a yahoo boy and I didn’t kill her for rituals.
The following morning the mum came around and said she was looking for her daughter, and that was the first time I saw her, the daughter probably gave her the spare key to the house. She came the night before the incident but didn’t meet me.”

Ojih’s sons, Favour Ogheneruona, 16, and Precious Ogheneruona, 14, were said to be on the same motorcycle when they had a fatal collision with a tipper lorry on the Owa-Okei Road, Owa, Delta State, which led to their deaths.

The unfortunate incident happened on May 24, 2022, and they were laid to rest in their hometown after a funeral service at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Agbor, on Thursday, July 21, 2022.
The father of five, in an interview with Ika Weekly Newspaper, revealed that his first son was looking forward to studying engineering, while the second hoped to become a medical doctor before the age of 22.

It was on their way back, between Owa Ekei and Owa Alero, that a big truck (tipper) crushed them to death.
“Their death was a huge loss to us, as my first son was already anticipating studying Engineering, while the second one to become a medical doctor, before the age of twenty-two.
“We loved our children so much; they were very obedient and are committed to our well-being of the family, even at their young age. They were working for us because they were envisaging that as they are working for us, we the parents will in turn would use those resources to send them to the University
“The Bible said we should give God thanks in every situation of life, actually, it is better they died that way than becoming a nuisance to society and source of burden to us because the impact of the accident on them was tremendous.” He said.

A judge in Macerata has ordered that the Italian man, Filippo Claudio Giuseppe Ferlazzo, who beat a Nigerian migrant to death in Italy, must remain in jail.
It was earlier reported that Alika Ogochukwu, a 39-year-old Italy-based Nigerian man, was attacked and beaten to death by Filippo on the streets of Civitanova Marche, a city located in the Province of Macerata, in the Marche Region of Italy, after he complimented his partner’s beauty.

The footage from the attack showed how the suspect, Ferlazzo, hit and choked Alika while people stood by and watched.
Ferlazzo’s lawyer, Roberta Bizzarri, said during Monday’s hearing her client cooperated with investigators, apologized for what happened, and had “clarified” that racism was not the motive.

Macerata prosecutors have also charged Ferlazzo with homicide and robbery, as he also allegedly took Alika’s phone after killing him, but racism was not cited as an aggravating factor.
However, Ferlazzo’s family said he had a history of mental health problems, which had led to his mother being assigned as his legal guardian by a court, ANSA Italy reports.
“Why wasn’t he being monitored even though he had a guardian?” said Francesco Mantella, the lawyer representing the deceased’s family.
“Apologies are not enough,” Alika’s family said via the lawyer. “What is needed now is justice, not vendetta. It’s difficult to understand what happened.”

Patrick Guobadia of the Nigerians in Italy association said that “if it had been two Italians, things would have turned out differently – someone would have intervened to separate them.”
The street vendor who passed away is survived by his wife and kid, who is eight years old. Also, he provided for a 10-year-old girl who lived with his family but was not a daughter.
The local council has, however, set up a fund of 15,000 euros to help the victim’s family.

A while ago, actress, Nkechi Blessing has slammed those castigating her female colleagues for actively participating in politics.
Nkechi Blessing in a video shared on her social media page, tackled the critics for being double minded.
According to her, when a crisis occurs in the country, people are quick to call on celebrities to lend their voices to the cause and now that celebrities have decided to take the rein in politics, same people are criticizing them.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has extended the ongoing strike that began on February 14 by another four weeks.
The President of the Union, Prof Emmanuel Osodeke, made this disclosure in a statement released on Monday, August 1, and said the extension takes effect immediately.
It was also contained that the extension is to give the Federal Government enough time to resolve all outstanding issues with the striking lecturers.

Read the full statement below,
“Following extensive deliberations and taking cognisance of Government’s past failures to abide by its own timelines in addressing issues raised in the 2020 FGN/ASUU Memorandum of Action (MOA), NEC resolved that the strike be rolled over for four weeks to give Government more time to satisfactorily resolve all the outstanding issues. The roll-over strike action is with effect from 12.01 am on Monday, 1st August 2022.
“An emergency meeting of the National Executive Council of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) held at the Comrade Festus Iyayi National Secretariat, University of Abuja, Abuja, on Sunday, 31st July 2022. The meeting was called to review developments since NEC’s resolution to extend its roll-over strike action by another 12 weeks with effect from May 2022.
“The NEC meeting took place against the backdrop of government’s obligations as spelled out in the Memorandum of Action (MOA) it signed with ASUU on 23rd December 2020. Specifically, NEC recalled the government’s failure to conclude the process of renegotiating the 2009 FGN/ASUU Agreement, deploy the University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS), pay outstanding arrears of Earned Academic Allowances (EAA), release the agreed to sum of money for the revitalization of public universities (Federal and States), address proliferation and governance issues in State Universities, settle promotion arrears, release withheld salaries of academics, and pay outstanding third-party deductions led to the initial declaration of the roll-over strike on 14th February 2022.
“NEC appreciated the historic nationwide protest of 26th and 27th July 2022 organised by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in collaboration with Civil Society Organisations (CSO) to further create awareness on the antics of the Nigerian ruling class to destroy public education. ASUU renews its commitment to the struggles of NLC in championing the cause of the working and suffering Nigerians.
“NEC viewed with seriousness the recent directive given by the President and Visitor to all Federal Universities that the Minister of Education, in consultation with other government officials, should resolve the lingering crisis and report to him within two weeks. The Union wonders why it had taken five full months and needless muscle-flexing for government to come to the realisation of the need for honest engagement.
“NEC acknowledged the growing understanding of the issues and the groundswell of support for the Union’s principled demand for globally competitive university education in Nigeria. Nigerian universities must not be reduced to constituency projects that merely exist on paper and our scholars must be incentivised to stay back and do what they know best, here in Nigeria.
“NEC observed that non-signing of the draft renegotiated 2009 FGN-ASUU Agreement more than one month after it was concluded by Professor Nimi Briggs-led Committee is further tasking the patience of ASUU members nationwide.
“NEC further observed that the ongoing trial of the suspended Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF), Mr Ahmed Idris, on allegation of monumental fraud has vindicated ASUU’s rejection of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information (IPPIS). The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) is enjoined to release reports of the latest tests on the University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS) vis-a-vis IPPIS without further delay. ASUU shall resist any attempt to truncate the deployment of UTAS with all legitimate means available to the Union.
“NEC noted that cumulative indifference by the political class gave vent to a pervasive atmosphere of insecurity which now threatens the seamless provision of educational services in the country. The unceremonious closure of educational institutions in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), following the recent attack on Presidential Guards, betrays a panicky measure to addressing a malignant ailment. Nothing short of a comprehensive overhaul of the security architecture of the country will sustainably address the problem.”
Veteran Nollywood actress, Hilda Dokubo has reacted after the abductors of her colleagues, Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel, aka Agbogidi, demanded for the sum of $100,000 as ransom to secure their release.
Taking to her Instastory on Sunday, July 31st, the 52-year-old actress wondered where the kidnappers expect them to get the money from.

She said they clearly misjudged the financial status of the actors they kidnapped because she has worked with them in the past and they are barely getting by.
She added that though some actors put up a lavish front on social media, that’s not their reality.

Her words,
“Nollywood is about moving from one level of begging for alms to save an ill or dying colleague to now facing the worse of fears over two of their colleagues facing God knows what in the hands of kidnappers!
Where will we turn if not the public using our social media platforms!
Well…Finally the kidnappers have made their demands. They want money! 100k USdollars! From where?
Unfortunately they misjudged the financial status of the actors they kidnapped! And think that as it is in the movies that is how it is in real life. What a life!
Where will we get one hundred thousand USdollars from? God save all of us from this pain and give us your grace for this period.
I know some actors paint the wrong picture on social media all the time but it is only in line with the “Show” part of SHOWbiz. Hopefully you’ll understand what I mean.
I am pained because I know this two personally, have worked with them and I know the truth of how it is with them.
Just been asking myself one question all day, How much does an average actor make in Nigeria?”

Popular Nollywood actress, Lizzy Gold has revealed one of the reasons why Nollywood actors are being abducted by kidnappers.
Her post comes after two veteran actors, Clemson Cornel and Cynthia Okereke, were abducted while filming in Enugu over the weekend.

They were reported missing by their family members after they didn’t return home from a movie location at Ozalla Town, Enugu State.
Meanwhile, the kidnappers have made contact with the families and are now demanding for the sum of $100,000 to secure their release.
Following the incident, Lizzy took to her Instagram page to assert that Nollywood actors have become the target of kidnappers because they believe actors are rich due to the purported net worth of Nollywood stars published on the internet.

She shared a screenshot of her biography published online where it was claimed that she’s worth $400,000 (over N160 million), and said those kind of posts gives kidnappers the notion that actors are wealthy.
Lizzy wrote,
“This is one of the reasons actors are been kidnapped ..they think we are so rich …I need to arrest the person behind this lies…
I am working hard to be wealthy but am currently not close to any of that amount mentioned there… I nor get money ooo I be hustler ooo …I Dey even find who go dash me money …pls do not believe anything you read on the internet…”

Writing in his tribute to the slain soldier, one Clement Excel said the deceased’s mother was killed by suspected herdsmen on her farm in Benue state on Monday, July 25.
He wrote,
“DOUBLE TRAGEDY BEFALL THE FAMILY OF LATE MR. SIMON ODIH OF OTUKPA. On Monday 25th July, 2022. His mother was gruesomely murdered in coldblooded by yet unidentified assailant right in her farm at Adumu Otukpa.
“Community and sympathies were thrown into mourning to unravel circumstances and perpetrators of the dastardly act.

“Tars flowed, hearts rended and bleed. Yet, Officer Daniel Odih could not had the opporturnity to mourn his MOTHER. Silently, he nurturned the brunt all alone. Hmmmm! As a brave soldier, He maintained his oath of office to defend his nation by whatever circumstances.

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has mourned a corps member, Eunice Chioma Igweike, who was reportedly killed on her way to the orientation camp in Sagamu, Ogun State.
The deceased, a 2022 Batch B corps member, had left her house on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, for the three-week orientation course at the Ogun State NYSC camp, when she was abducted. She was found dead with vital parts of her body missing on Thursday, July 21, 2022.

The NYSC Director (Press and Public Relations), Eddy Megwa, stated in a statement on Saturday, July 30, that security agencies have launched an investigation into Igweike’s death.
The statement read,
“The attention of the NYSC management has been drawn to an online publication with the above caption making the rounds in the social media. To put the issues raised in proper perspective, the scheme indeed lost a prospective corps member by name, Miss Eunice Chioma Igweike, who set out for NYSC permanent orientation camp, Sagamu, Ogun State, having been deployed to the state for the national service under the 2022 Batch B service year
“A call by her elder brother to the NYSC on July 20, 2022 reporting that he had not been able to reach her sister on phone since her departure to NYSC Ogun camp from Aba, Abia State, prompted the scheme to contact the security agencies to know her whereabouts
“Sadly, on Thursday, July 21 2022, her remains which were intact, and not mutilated as reported in the media, were recovered along Sagamu-Imota Road and deposited in the morgue.
“The NYSC feels highly diminished by the death of Eunice Chioma Igweike, a promising young Nigerian that would have been a great ambassador of her family, contributing her quota to nation building. The Director-General NYSC, Brigadier General Mohammed Fadah, management and the entire members of NYSC family commiserate with Igweike Family on the demise of the young lady”.
